Currently own a 2 type storage(SD memory card & mini tape) camcoder. I use mini tape to record my video and photo with SD card. The question is, may i know how to transfer my video from tape to PC? The package just provide USB cable, so i just plug in and saw my memory card data only. How to detect the tape? I cant detect it even i switch to video mode.

To me, I am using SVideo(analog) or Firewire(digital) connected to additional A/D video capture card. I am using the Panasonic NV200 (3 CCD) but the new model are using USB Streaming (don't know too much about this). If urs is using this, I can't help U

Getting Started

|
Your USB port that the camera supplied with is mostly not for Video transfer but for Photo transfer. Most companies do not supply the firewire neither would they supply you the USB 2.0
So, the only option you have is that you need to pick a firewire cable, and also you must have a firewire card if your PC does not have one. Once you have both of it is install and hook up, last but not least, the software for dummies to use is PowerProducer - with one click you can transfer your Mini DV tape to your PC or to a DVD directly.
So good luck if that is all the information you wanted.
You should read your camcorder manual, it would have implied or express stated that you need other cables for you to transfer the video.
