Hi sonypshomer,

Beamforming helps to improve wireless reception and reduced interference by focusing a Wi-Fi signal in a specific direction while band steering prioritize smart devices to the less congested 5GHz network so that you can have a better streaming experience for example.

As for the product video, stay tuned as it will be out soon! smile.gif

Hi there

My home Unifi is still using Unifi's default wifi router - the orange DLink DIR 615 router, currently with 30Mbps package. Home is a regular single storey home. Feeling the performance has been a bit deteriorating and sluggish - maybe due to the age of the router.

If I change to this, will there be any significant improvement in terms of speed and overall performance?

Thx

Hi silbii,

there will definitely be a significant improvement in terms speed and performance as the PRC3801 is an AC1200 router which has a higher wifi speed at 1200Mpbs compared to your current router's 300Mbps. As for the wired LAN, the PRC3801 supports gigabit speeds compared to your current router's 100Mbps.

Hope this helps! smile.gif

Happy to hear that, cyma! biggrin.gif
Another thing to point out is that the PRC3801 has 4 High-Gain 5DBi antennas which can provide enhanced wireless range, eliminating any dead spots that you might have in your home or small office.

Good Day!!

It is great that I found this thread. I have recently purchased and install Prolink PRC3801 for Unifi in my Home. The installation for network routing was a breeze, but I count get HyppTV to function. For my previous router (TP-Link TP-WR841ND), I connected the ethernet cable from HyppTV Box to LAN1. What about for PRC3801? How do I get HyppTV to work? I would appreciate your response. Thank you.

Did you enable IPTV in setup? IPTV should be LAN4

Hi there,

Have you selected this profile during the setup wizard?

HyppTV should be connected to LAN4.

Alternatively, you can check under Setting>Internet. Sample picture below for your reference.
