Teruna suci sekarang tak sihat. Ingatan dia pun dah tak berapa jelas.

But he is one of OSS supporters and active once upon time..

Brother trunasuci suffered stroke attack a few months back i think. He is now recuperating at his hometown. People closer to him maybe can help verify this.

See, there are people here are wondering the same like me - what happen to the oldies.
Thanks bro! Will keep that in mind. Currently I'm just doing it live, cuz I don't have proper syllabus so I'll just do a small case study for now to see what's those newbs usually ask and see if I can do the same for students.
I know Haris, I used to work with him at Abyres. He's not there anymore ?

How is terunasuci now? Is he okay?

I'm reviving Arch and Red Hat families. The fire nation returns

From my conversation with other Linux communities, it was early 2018.

For people who is already in the community, we don't feel this Linux Community is dying or dead.

Personally I think because we already know where we can find each other and hangout whenever possible.

But then, I saw someone post this thread link again in the community chat. I think I know how you feel if you don't know where to hangout with the Malaysian Linux Community. Come and join us. We are not not hiding in other planet anyway. biggrin.gif

As for Ubuntu community,

Previously we are active in IRC channel #ubuntu-my. The channel still exists but I think we just park our nick there and remain silent, AFK and get busy with daily chores. However, the same people in this group can be easily find if you know where they are.

Then, we have Malaysia Ubuntu Forums (no more). The same people from IRC are there.

After that, we moved to Facebook Group. The same people from IRC & forums. And later, the forum is down due to no maintenance.

Until recently the Ubuntu LoCo Community choose Telegram.

Feel free to Come and join Ubuntu telegram Group https://t.me/ubuntumalaysia

I may be busy doing other daily works, but always in the community. Mention my handles @ApOgEE and I'll respond when possible. icon_rolleyes.gif

I find Windows 10 to be more stable and usable now. Alternative OS would be FreeNas

That's hilarious. I was visiting my mother this past weekend and had to install some "Windows Feature Update 1903" on her Win10 laptop. The bloody download appeared stuck at 99% for more than half an hour, and then it finally finished and made me reboot twice, and then the update screen says the update failed and to try again later. Worse still, it screwed up the native resolution. Fixed the display in the end, but just decided to ignore the update. Next time I visit her, I'm wiping the hard drive and installing some easy distro like Mint or Zorin for her.

The whole ordeal only served to solidify my dislike for Windows. Everyone says, "oooh, Windows is much better now!!" Pfft, much better than what? Vista?! Of course. Even a lump of dog shit would be better than Vista. Better than dog shit still doesn't mean it's good. If someone forces me to use Windows for some proprietary app on my own computers, the only way I'll do so is in a KVM/qemu session. There's no way in hell I'm installing that garbage OS on bare metal.

Perhaps it is just "stable and usable" for typical end user who never tried any linux distro yet as they don't have much choices.

As for me, I would rather install linux distro on their PC and tell them this is the latest OS. Then teach em some simpler tricks than previous crap OS way for their daily usage. I can confirm they wont revert back to the old crap OS they're used to.

LOL, I just did that for someone last week. Replaced Windows with Solus Budgie on an old Acer Celeron laptop. Default install, though I did alloctate a separate /home partition just in case need to wipe the OS and preserve his porn one day. Only change I made was to tweak Firefox a bit (enabled Cloudflare DNS over HTTPS, hardware acceleration, some battery saving tweaks, other about:config stuff) and installed a couple of basic extensions (uBlock Origin, Decentraleyes, HTTPS Everywhere, etc) mainly to protect the user from himself. No other changes. The owner seems quite happy now. Says everything is so fast it feels like he bought a new computer.

glad to hear that... yeah... GOOD JOB!! thumbup.gif

Typical users nowadays don't even care which OS they are on. They will be happy to get great OS from us. In fact they mostly want to run web browser and access their web app, fb, youtube, and pr0n.. hahaha
