Dear All,

Appreciate your kind advice to introduce myself a reliable 3rd Party Apple Macbook Repair company.
My Macbook Air cannot turn on & and I sent to official Apple Service Centre.
It is ridiculous that they ask me to change the motherboard & charged 70% of the Original Macbook Air Price. Around 2.5k

Appreciate your prompt advice.

You can contact Mac Cores Solution
https://www.facebook.com/maccores/

But if the motherboard needs to be changed, that is usually a pricey fix in truth.

Dear Mavik, thanks. I will contact the company.
But the price is too ridiculous to me.....

I can buy a new one with that price.

My Macbook Air is 3 years old.

Then I would suggest you get a new one because you would never know as well what other parts may fail on your current model.

Thanks Mavik for recommending. We did not get any enquiry from TS. Probably have found better option.

Anyway. Not all cases will require a logic board replacement. You'll need to understand that Authorised Service Centre (ASC) have a strict protocol to follow when handling a Mac sent to them for service. Whichever part they suspect is problematic, they will just quote you for replacement. And parts prices are controlled by Apple. Often affected by exchange rates, taxes and logistic fares.

Being a 3rd party company doesn't mean we will be cheap. That is the first wrong impression many people have when they come to us. What we offer are what service centre can't do, won't do and will not offer. Such as investigate the issue on the logic board if really need to be replaced. Can it still be salvaged by components repair. Many cases that was quoted by ASC that needed new board, proven not so after sent over to us. Especially liquid spilled cases. Once cleaning and service was done on those unit, they often found working just fine.

If needed replacement, we will offer alternate options. Like reliable used or refurb board if they are available. Which ASC will not offer.

We are not here to replace ASC. But as an alternative option to it. There's nothing wrong to get a second opinion.
