I heard the minimum amount for FD to be pledged for all PBB credit card has been revised to 20k. Is it true? Anyone can confirm? How about PB Visa Signature? Also revised to 20k or still remains 30k or 35k?

Apparently personal account also requires token for transfer amount above 10k now a day.

Didn’t know that there is charges for possessing token.

The limit is actually 10k per transaction and 20k per day.

Can we pledge FD to apply for a card for someone who doesn’t have income ?
*
Yes, possible but subject to bank's approval. Do note that Public Bank has a lot of other charges besides the stamp duty for FD pledge compared to other banks. So need to calculate if it is worth it.

Credit card application for PB Visa Signature was unsuccessful though I fulfil the income requirement. Any suggestion on how to get it approved besides pledging FD? Been applying since early of this year 😔. CCRIS all 0, housing loan below 100k, BT below 10k .....

PBB credit dept like to reject application.
Even my Ambank Visa Infinite has approved recently with income required 120k p.a.
in the end PBB VS still rejected while CCRIS no issue.

I have experienced this first hand recently. My application was rejected even with FD pledge because I am not able to provide income docs. doh.gif

Other banks only charge RM10 for stamp duty while PBB charges 0.5% of the pledge amount. Min amount to pledge is 20k even for a gold card. There are a bunch of other charges too for PBB like stamping fee, documentation fee, banker's cheque fee etc. As they take some time to inform me about the outcome and need to wait for the refund, I lost a few weeks interest for the FD as well. vmad.gif So for those considering pledging FD to get PBB card, beware.

To add on, all the fees are not refundable except for the 0.5% stamp duty even for unsuccessful application. I was told earlier that the money would be refunded should my application fail. However, they fail to mention that not all of it would be refunded. ranting.gif I lost more than RM100 for the application (fees + interest lost on FD). vmad.gif Public Bank sure know how to make money from its customers.

Look for other branch, Different branch have different charging rate

Are you sure different branch has different charges? I thought the charges should be the same for all branches.

Yup I know all that. I have my own plan to make full use of the cards. My expenses alone monthly is super high. And after due calculations , it’s much more worth it for me to get the cards by pledging FD. As it is the 35K and 20K would be lying idle in my savings accounts. So might as well let these amounts do little work for me and at the same time help me reap the most out of my expenditures.

Why do you need to pledge separately to get the cards? Is this a requirement from PBB? I don't know about PBB but for some banks, if sharing the same credit limit, can apply for multiple cards using a single FD pledge.
