So how to confirm it's really call from bank or not?
*
1) use common sense!

do u really owe the money they claimed you to be?
do u even have their service at all?
do u have issues with the outstanding?

you should know whether you are in trouble or not.

2) if you are in trouble, do u prefer to call banks for info and support?

3) then call the bank back! or in serious trouble, walk in to branch or HQ to resolve.

why do u need bank to call you and help? knowing there are many scams around, do u think it is safe to deal over the phone call?

convenience and complacent will put you in deeper trouble. be careful, mindful, and alert, especially dealing with banks or money-related matters.

Seem like it is UOB Payonline issue? I’ve call up to PBB , they asked me to fill up dispute form.. in the email, I told them, how can PBB allow the duplicate txn to go through without my authorization since I only requested 2 OTP, but they charged me 4 times

At the same time, I also email to UOB Payonline..
*
more like PBB's issue.

i had experienced similar previously, not from uobpayonline, just normal swipe at secret recipe. pbb cs did the adjustment the next few days, without filling form (obviously they knew the problem was erroneous double-posting of transaction.

just asked cs how many transactions captured by their system, then you'd know where the issue originated. if captured 1x but posted 2x, pbb's issue. if captured 2x and posted 2x, merchant's issue. also find out how many OTP sent and received. 1 otp = 1 transaction = 1 posting.

I call PBB CS they said is not their problem. It's the merchant system problem that charge to them

which merchant?

better disclose which suspected merchants so that we can compare notes and be wary of it.

pre-order book thru mphonline, using the quantum master card, then mph contact me ask me confirm the credit card bank and location cause their system detect the card as "oversea credit card"  public bank got branch oversea meh sweat.gif
*
oversea cc means cc not identified as local Malaysia issued. this is normal for new card like Quantum.

it doesn't mean the call is made from oversea branch.

*
specific to your question: no need

however, you need SA to create PBe internet banking, which in turn able to view cc transaction history.

Gama Supermarket & Departmental Store in Penang not entitled for Quantum Visa cashback. bangwall.gif

previously back in HLB Wise threads, Gama was tested to be Departmental. not sure which area was it. refer above.

for your case in Penang, probably they split 2 MCC (grocery & departmental) like Aeon? or both section under Grocery? or else.

do call CS to ask for MCC, they can provide you without fuss.

Just called, apparently it's under Grocery, contradicting to the message you shared above from HLB Wise thread, weird. I was shopping at the Departmental floor.
*
that's "normal" biggrin.gif especially diff outlet has diff MCC assigned during application of the terminals.

sometimes they swap the terminals around (e.g. departmental terminals used at Grocery section or vice versa).

For those that do 10x shopee.. how do you guys overcome the system limits?? i.e.
- "2 transaction limit per day per card per seller"
- "4 transaction limit per day per card"
*
tough to hit all ...

1) get more supp cards, with split statement. that means you'd probably need to access all supp cards' statements (eBill or PBe).
2) get multiple pbb products, mix-and-match. e.g. VS and Quantum or other PBB cards.
3) spread the swipes in 3 days
4) pay directly to merchant to complement shopee.

on avg, 4 weeks in a month, 1 week to spend ~RM5xx+, that's about ~RM2k+ per month of spending (assuming kiasu to hit all weeks).

1 or 2 cards are definitely not enough to spread the spending while gaining monthly cashback without maxing them.

or, just 1 or 2 cards to max out the cb without being calculative since the promo weekly cb is good enough to cover the "loss of monthly cb". biggrin.gif

PBB VS card for AA online purchase entitled CB right.

Want to ask/confirm:

the CB circle is follow statement date right? planning to buy AA tickets, but realized my statement date is on 27th... if purchase AA tickets today, mean I will max out my CB and not worth it.

are my understanding correct?
*
yes, per statement cycle.

however, there's hope biggrin.gif

if you swipe for AA tickets now, but it get posted after 27 Oct, then the cb is on your next cycle.

just get my VS card last month so still not so familiar with the rule..
as per tnc, 6% Cash Rebate is capped at RM50 per month per principal account

just to make clear:
Scenario A, my statement date is 16 oct

I have swiped rm100 online on 01/10, so the cash back on 16/10 statement is rm6.
then I swipe rm855 online on 17/10, and I swipe rm100 on 01/11, so the cash back on statement 16/11 is rm50.
is that mean that I will lose the cash back for the rm100 on 01/11?

correct. capped rm50 per statement cycle only, that is about RM833 spending. you first swipe rm855 already maxed out the cb.

Scenario B, my statement date is 16 oct

I have swiped rm100 online on 01/10, so the cash back on 16/10 statement is rm6.
then I swipe rm855 online on 01/11, so the cash back on statement 16/11 is rm50.
next month I swipe rm100 online on 17/11, so the cash back on statement 16/12 is rm0.
is that mean that I will lose the cash back for the rm100 on 17/11?

you would get RM6 cb on 16/12 statement. reason is rm100 swipe on 17/11 is after your statement on 16/11, so it falls to next cycle.

thanks notworthy.gif
*
refer inline comment.

scenario B is better.

note: all based on assumption the transaction get posted within the same cycle and eligible for cb.

for scenario B,
01/10 rm100 get rm6
17/10 rm855 get rm50
total = rm56 for October

so mean this statement is incorrect? => 6% Cash Rebate is capped at "RM50 per month" per principal account.
and it should change to capped at "RM50 per monthly statement" cycle.

now I need to recalculate back my spending. bangwall.gif
*
laugh.gif

this is why one of the FAQ in any cc thread would be: "cashback calculation is based on statement month or calendar month?"

if you're reviewing your calculation/formula, count it based on POSTING DATE instead. this is more accurate to determine actual cb amount.

e.g.

swipe RM100 on 1/10, posted on 2/10, cb RM6 on 16/10 (assuming no other spending).
swipe RM100 on 15/10, posted on 16/10, cb RM6 on 16/10.
swipe RM100 on 16/10, posted on 16/10, cb RM6 on 16/10.
swipe RM100 on 16/10, posted on 17/10, cb RM0 on 16/10. the RM100 is to be calculated in next cycle ending 16/11.
