QUOTE(veron208 @ Aug 9 2018, 06:55 AM) The issue was you have the choice to use cc or not to use. CC is a luxury item and you can always choose not to use it, hence you dont have to pay for the tax. > CC is a luxury item > dont have to pay for the tax These 2 statements contradict each another.

QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Aug 9 2018, 10:53 AM) No contradiction. Luxury item means you can choose not to use it (then you won't pay tax). Not like essential like rice, want or not also must have rice. That's exactly my point. CC is definitely a luxury item since it allows you to possess a line of credit that's instantaneous. Whether a person use the CC in his wallet or not, he / she still subscribes to the convenience that is provided by a CC so like it or not, you'll still have to be taxed. An analogy would be to join a hotel membership & refusing to pay for 2017 membership fee since you didn't stay at the hotel at all in 2017.

QUOTE(veron208 @ Aug 9 2018, 11:34 AM) The point is you "want" that convenience of CC then you should pay for the tax. And that's exactly my point. I might have confused your initial statement since it read to me like you're saying CC is a luxury item so there's no need to pay tax for it.
