Hello everyone!
I've been planning to find a good Chinese school for my 5 years old daughter, due to this I have few questions:
1)from what age Chinese schools accept kids for year1?
2)we are expatriate family and none of us knows mandarin. But we want our child study at Chinese school, as it will be beneficial for her future. Question is, does it worth it? Will we face big difficulties with her studies?
3)could you recommend good schools at PJ area and if possible provide fees structure

Thank you smile.gif

You can enter into any government school when she turn 7 years old in one condition.
You'll need to pay fees at Selangor Education Department in yearly basis more & less RM150.
My 2 cent, you'll enroll her in any private Chinese kindergarten for basic learning Mandarin.
Within 2 years, u should know her ability in learning mandarin. Then you decide, chinese school or else.

it is good for your kids to enroll into any Chinese kindergarden in my opinion.

the syllabus and the Chinese language is gettting difficult in Chinese primary school now.

Those words I learned when I was 9-10 years old about 20 yrs ago, they have to learn it at 7 yrs old now...

Just learning how to speak the language is sufficiently enough.
If your daughter plans to study UPSR in SJKC.

Do discuss with the teachers about her progress in all the subjects progression.
As most of the contact hours, are aimed at Mandarin, if she's weak at Mandarin, she might be in trouble.
Also SJKC have those extra tution classes after 1PM - 4PM, is optional, but of course need to pay the school lah.

Try to find those school are equipped with smart facilities for her Y1. Should be fine progression in 6 years.

also did you enroll your daughter into Chinese Kindergarten for the past year?
