QUOTE(crixalisrox @ Sep 20 2017, 12:10 PM) ICYMI: iOS 11 saves your photos in *.heic format which offers 2X better compression than JPG. This saves space but it can be a problem if you transfer photos to a PC. Here's how you can convert *.heic to *.jpg: http://www.soyacincau.com/2017/09/19/iphon...-to-jpg-how-to/ sos from soyacincau. No wonder my phone space increased to 12gb , before was 2gb left . Well done ππ» QUOTE(teikwei @ Sep 20 2017, 02:34 PM) yeah.. still showing extension .jpeg, even took new photo.. any settings? This post has been edited by spreeeee: Sep 21 2017, 09:38 AM |

in previous appstore, app update able to see the update size.. but newer one cannot.. bug/feature?
i now can't justify if to update app using mobile data or wifi.. usually smaller update size don't mind using mobile data (if no wifi). This post has been edited by spreeeee: Sep 21 2017, 09:41 AM |

QUOTE(Wildcat @ Sep 21 2017, 09:47 AM) QUOTE(teikwei @ Sep 21 2017, 09:48 AM) You actually can go to iOS Settings β Camera β Formats to change the format file. I think iphone 6 or 6s doesn't have this setting, it only show on iphone 7 above. i did that settings and chosen HE, but when captured new photo and transfer to google drive, it is jpeg. |

New images will be stored in iphone in new Apple image format. When we transfer or email the images, iOS will convert them into jpg. It is transparent to users. |

Updated my iPad Air 2 to iOS 11, so far no issues.
I find the Files app very useful, now no longer need to go into my separate storage apps (iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, Onedrive) to dig my document. Strongly recomment iPad users to upgrade to iOS 11. =) |

I think the converted jpeg will still be larger than heic. |

No offense but can you share the source of this?Never read about this post conversion before. I thought the picture taken would be either in the Apple new format or jpg. |

Not sure HEIC support for iphone 6s or not, cause the format didn't show in my setting.
