Got used to the X on my second day. On the first day yes I did miss how much faster/smoother it is to unlock the phone with Touch ID.

Face ID also has its benefits, like now I can choose to not show any preview of notifications (preview of message/WhatsApp) on the lock screen until my face is looking at the screen to unlock the phone etc.

RRP aside, when you compare telco price between the 8 Plus and X, they are really not too far apart. Makes me wonder is the 8 and 8 Plus kinda wrongly priced? At the X’s subsidised price, I guess the choice is clear to get the X.

I guess we’ll have to wait for next year’s release for everything that the X has to offer to mature. Back during the 6 era, it was still having slight issues, then the 6S improved many factors and finally the 7 was really matured. The 8 now is just a solid piece of device, only outdated design.

Based on rumours, the flagship X should have two screen sizes (a Plus model is on the way). There will be an entry level model which will look similar to the X but it will continue to use LCD display, I think this will have same pricing as current 8 models.

I feel that if you were to play with the phone on display at stores, you might be tempted to buy it. You’ll need to be using it on a daily basis for few days to be able to conclude.

The Plus model should last slightly longer than X, probably around 1 hour more.
