Moved from Uber to grab 2 weeks ago. So far:

1. I no need chase trip count in grab. In Uber, i have to hit quest count 54 or 39 to get incentive. If i hit 53 only, i get no incentive. This is usually very stressful. Sometimes i have to force myself to drive until 2am to get 54 trips. I dare not cancel any trip no matter how stupid the rider is. I just swallow and accept the rider abuse to complete the trip. In grab, the incentive is based on hourly, AR, CR and rating. If cannot hit target, there is always the next hour.

2. The pickup distance in grab is usually less than 2km. In Uber, it is average 5km or more (even received 20km )

3. In grab, the app don't care what route you use, the fare is fixed. Rider cannot change drop off point midway. In Uber, the app calculate the distance traveled. If you used shortcut, the fare becomes lower because shorter distance. Rider can change drop off point any time and the fare recalculate to cheaper fare. Uber got upfront fare that rider agreed to pay when booking. The driver may get lower fare, Uber pocket the difference.

3. Grab got minimum fare like rm 4 or rm 5. Uber don't have. It depends on distance. Can be as low as rm 1.00 i think.

4. Grab fare is round up to ringgit. No need deal with coins. Uber fare is up to sen which is very confusing when 10 sen or 20 sen. Need to find change.

5. Grab fare is usually higher than Uber fare.

6. It is easier to get ping in grab than Uber. (More riders)

7. Myth : Uber got more civilised riders. Fact : both the same. Got good and bad riders. Just depend on your luck.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, i also kena before. One rider came into car so i start trip. Then she say need to wait for another rider. The second rider took half an hour. Cannot cancel cannot go. Haihz. Rider said sorry will topup extra cash to me for waiting. In the end she gave extra rm1 only. Some riders really think they are big boss .....

my weekly promotion incentive has been reducing every week. from rm 190 for 54 trips to rm 105 recently (i hit the target every week). so i stopped driving uber last 2 weeks and this week the promotion incentive went back rm 190 again.

so uber will punish you if you work hard, and reward you if you drive less. bangwall.gif

Smart driver will opt in Grab only and get 20% commission.
Doing both at 25% commission worth it?
*
when moving to grab, i have tried to do both. it is definitely not worth it. better to just do grab only for 20% commission and hourly guarantee. no need switch from both. when you pick uber riders, you need to off-line grab then you will lose in the hourly guarantee.

also, for uber, the incentive is 39 / 54 trips. this is very hard to achieve and you will be forced to online uber only to hit the target.

you may want to do both if your area grab ping is very less. but in Klang Valley, grab ping is non-stop.

Doing uber is very deceiving. Got a ping surge 2.0x. Drive 5km to pick up. See see, destination only 1.5km trip. Fare upfront rm5. Seriously uber treats driver like Lembu. Grab at least have town hall and discussion.
*
Mine was driving 2km to pick-up point then the drop-off distance is 600 meter for fare rm 1.30. After deduct uber commission, the nett is less than rm 1.00. Haha. Luckliy I was chasing 54 trips to reach target so never mind lor. Btw, it was a girl who just didn't want to walk to the bus-stop and she had some promo code.

Especially during rain-season. The riders just want a short ride to the bus-stop or train which is just few meters away. Surge 2.0x for rm 1.00 trip becomes rm 2.00 also no use bangwall.gif

Still feel kuli like shit.

Maybe drive a little bit more instead. I can drive this amount then you all can too.

Actually toll should not include in total daily earnings. This is very misleading. Uber should exclude toll in earnings.

RM 287 for 11 hours drive is actually quite low.

Wow....you get this amount from 13 trips only?Outstation trips?
*
Rm 689 = rm 53 per trip for 13 trips.

I think is all airport trips because rm 65 minus commission is rm 53 nett.

How you manage to get 13 airport trips in a day? Mind to share?

I have drive Uber for 6 months. I have never hit more than rm 400 per day.

mengeGrab je la. Tak payah mengUber or mengUblur.
*
I drove for Ublur for 6 months. I cannot go Grab because I was using Viva (Grab minimum is Axia). Ublur just got worse and worse. In the end I changed car to qualify for Grab. Now so much better..... rclxms.gif

There is no reason to drive for Ublur. Only reason is if your car not qualify for Grab.

Yes....you are right, the small increase still does not compensate the rider's unknown destination....
If only driver know then still hit a bit on Grab, this barely hit on Grab
*
Yeah. Know destination is important to part time driver like me. In morning i drive 2 to 3 hours before go to work. Sometimes i get sent to far drop off point making me late for work. At night also, i am too tired wanna do one last trip but get sent to far place instead.
