Imagine if I do 20 trips in 1 day.
Average of 5 km pickups.
20 x 5 km = 100 km = rm20 petrol for my car.
Haven't calculate the time spent for that 100 km.

That is why always set max pickup distance set it to 5 km.

Uber map will bring u to holland road.

You will still be able to see the pick up distance, as Uber app will come to the foreground. In any case, the distance and estimated time are far from accurate.

I used Uber navigation for about 2 weeks when I had problem with Waze. (Actually it's Uber app which caused problem in Waze.) Uber navigation has quite a number of shortcomings:
- Many roads are not in the map, e.g. the road leading to Awan Besar LRT station.
- Often, it doesn't know if a road is one-way, and tells us to drive in the wrong direction, e.g. the road in front of Astro in Technology Park Malaysia.
- Estimated time to pick-up and drop-off points are less accurate compared to Waze.
- When one approaches pick-up or drop-off point, additional information is displayed, which leaves just over half the screen space for map.

On the other hand, Waze gives us the fastest route, while Uber's estimated fare is based on shortest route. If you take the longer (albeit faster) route, the actual fare will be adjusted, but the rider can dispute it.

Is the boost being calculated since the start point we pick up the rider? or take effect at the end point? Or start and end must be in boost area only able to get ?

Regarding Ace, CS said they want to get feedback from drivers about it. But so far haven't pass feedback form to drivers yet. (I didn't get the form, did you?)

1.2 to 1.3 still boleh la for medium distance trip... But long trip confirm still rugi if only 1.2 to 1.3.

Yeah, last Sunday Boost until 2.4x! Too bad I still busy washing my car. Only managed to snatch 1 ping at 2.2x boost. 13km trip, get like RM34 net after minus commission. 

Then another nice one, Surge 1.7x if I remember correctly. 5km trip but take more than 20 minutes to complete so fare was RM21 like that. Passenger some more give me tips. 

When boost 1.4x and Surge also 1.4x, Uber said we get the Surge amount because they always pay the higher amount. Hahaha.. Bullshit. If they give us the Boost, we earn more.

Yesterday midnight KL area surge until 2.0 man. But I lazy go out drive after dinner with family...

Short trip with surge I think can earn a bit. Why not man? Usually short trip will take longer time to complete, per kilometer, compared to long trip. So per km, you will earn more than long trip. That's the pro and con of Uber's fare calculation that includes time. You do long trip, you take highway, you can drive fast, so on average, per km you complete the trip faster, so the fare not so good, per km.

Grab just calculate 1.1 to 1.4 per km but fixed fare. If you Flexi you really cannot do short trip in KL. RM5 trip also can jam until 1 hour. If you HG, you need to maintain 80% AR so KL is a really dangerous place. Passenger cannot wait, cancel on you, you can end up stuck in KL 1 hour without completing any job. Then everyday you need to explain to CS about passenger cancellation. Really sien.

But long trip Grab usually better.

Uber, with Surge, is good for medium distance trip.

Anyway, my main reason for choosing Uber at the moment is not because of higher earnings, but because of less headache. Hopefully they will bring back Ace.

For me, short trip is 5-7km or less. Medium trip is 7-20km. 20km and above is long trip. But see the situation like where is the drop-off. Since IOI Mall to Pavilion still can get ping easily, I consider it as medium distance trip. Outstation trips completely no no for me.

That Uber fare RM32 I think includes surge..

But my main point for that post is sometimes Grab use ruler to calculate fare. 22km and 21 minutes if you take highway. Grab calculate 18km if you take Old Klang Road but it will take you more than 30 minutes to reach. Flexi really kena screwed.

But for your case yesterday, 43km trip, no matter how we look at it also Grab's fare is higher. At 4AM also the fare is RM63.

That's why I say, got Surge only I go out do Uber. But for this week la, see how first, whether they will bring back Ace.

Yeah too bad we can't see the destination. But still, at least we can see if it's long trip that will take more than 40 minutes. But sometimes kena those trips that take like 35 minutes or 39 minutes so we don't get any warning. Shit.

So sien le if go back to Grab. They got so many other problems.
