I briefly watched the Leica Q in action as my friend owns it, for the price it's unbeatable. TL is still APSC and limited lens available, and seems no wide angle lens? I always find anything longer than 35mm less versatile. For same price RM20k for TL+1 lens or Leica Q, I'd go for the Q. I had few years experience with RX1R and love that concept. Judging from the flickr groups and photos, Q has more character in its output - that true Leica look.

LOL videos should look somewhere else laugh.gif Even RX1R II also not very good - no IBIS/OIS (but Leica Q has OIS - surprise!).

The most expensive Zeiss lens, pales in comparison with a Leica Summilux or Summicron. Let's not bring the Noctilux in the picture at all. Those lens are crazy.

Leica is purely for people who can afford to spend 10~20k for a lens that does not come with auto-focus.

No right or wrong but Leica is DEFINITELY not for people who want's the best bang for bucks smile.gif

if you wanna show status and waste money, why buy leica when you can buy a haselblad, it is a proven product since most billboard advertising are using it. I would say you are a baller using a studio equipment outdoor than a leica user which to me is a norm product ;3

He probably wants smaller camera with great quality image and nice looking body. Understandable. As good as Hasselblad is, it's not for regular consumer.
If you are not used to range finder cameras, dont get leica. Unless Leica Q, which is at most a waste of money. (imo due its fixed 28mm lens)

The best bang for buck? Fujifilm XT-2/X pro2, U got the look and also the status.
The best Leica camera in terms of features starts with SL series, M series is just a waste of money.
By then when u want to purchase the SL series, rather spend that 25k on fujifilm Medium Format camera.

But if you insists on Leica? Get D-lux series. The APSC Sensor with 4k video mode. Better than Leica Q (outdated in terms of features).
And if u want that extra ummph, Get Leica TL2 body rm8k + Leica APO Vario Elmar 55-135mm F3.5-4.5 also RM8k = 17k should be enough to get the T Series.
Then get the extra batteries which will cost you 400 ringgit.

In total for Leica TL2 + Lens + 2 extra batteries = 18k. Go to the bank now.

Topic like this gets filled with such opinions, but staying on topic will keep the thread cleaner.

By the way, why 55-135mm for TL, especially for a start?

Looking for a leica X used. To me its quite a bang for money for a leica. 23mm f1. 7. The drawbacks is leica IQ will auto correct the aperture set

The latest Leica CL looks good and if you have Leica M lenses, with an adapter, you're good to go.
