Any price update for CT Scan? My family doctor advice my mum to do CT scan as normal blood test can't find what's the issue that cause her loss appetite and tiredness for long time.

He say might need to do CT scan blindly (random spot) to check where have prob.
So I ask him will cost how much. He say very sure is few K but duno how many K.
Maybe below 5k.

Anyone have experiment with this? Random scan.

She has done a few blood test. Let me compile and send to you.
For the tumor maker, I don't have the report with me, tested on april last year. It does show increase in CA199, however ultrasound done showed fatty liver, no pancreatic tumor.

Just notice PM can't attach images, so here is it.

This is the only reports I have with me, there are few more still in clinic and with my mum at hometown. The doctor called and saying the result have no problem.
Checked for kidney, liver and heart (scan at hospital).

Im guessing

CT thorax abdomen pelvis = Rm1200-1500
CT 3 phase pancreas = Rm1200-1600

This is for private hospital at my place

Gov hospital around 200-400 cheaper but waiting time for appointment  around 1-3 months

Hope this helps 😊

The above mentioned mostly will cover the whole body?
I mean if really the body have problem (not sure which part), with the scans above, can identity it?

hi.

1. she has anemia. low hemoglobin and hypochromic type. anemia may explain the tiredness. but reduced appetite can also cause anemia.
usually caused by low iron intake or chronic and slow amount of blood lost.
i suggest blood test for ferritin and transferin. if confirm iron deficiency anemia, may need to take supplement to solve the anemia. also need to investigate possible other causes of iron deficiency anemia : stool for occult blood, perhaps a pap smear if age less than 65 years old or have blood per vagina post menopausal, if never done a colonoscopy before, should get it done.

2. i won't be worried about the raised ggt..........as ast alt normal........bilirubin also.

3. she has diabetes.........is she properly treated for it?

4. any symptoms of hypothyroidism? might need to have the t3,t4,tsh level checked.

5. ignore the tumor markers. they should never be used as screening or diagnostic tool for now.

6. CT scan is not indicated.......more harm than benefit.

She took jardiance for diabetes, but the doc suspect the side effects are too strong for her. She keep losing weight day by day. Since her glucose level significantly drop in a month, range around 6.2-7.2, so he stopped her from taking jardiance anymore, hopefully she can gain back some weight and strength. Still monitoring her. Stopped for about 3-4 days.

She is taking another med for diabetes. Half tablet. Not sure the name of it.

She have pass history of hyperthyroidism, but have improvement and stopped take med for it.
