SSD speed up a lot. You can stick to HDD. Not an issue too.

now my HDD load win7 (switch on pc)

it takes about 10mins, for all items to be finish loaded in desktop.

would it affect the installation speed?

yes it will affect installation speed, because it's just hardware's limitations, especially hdd. to get that 20-minute installation speed you need at least ssd. this also apples to boot time and app load time.

if your pc supports ahci and sata 2, you should try ssd if you want. a small 120gb range will do as os disk.

if i read it right, 10 mins to load to Windows is long time, change to SSD helps a lot. NVME SSD just turn 2 rounds, Sata SSD maybe 5 rounds(rounds of turn at windows boot process to give a simple illustration only).

I also reduce the number of applications that load at start up

I re-install my Windows, and it take less than 15 mins to complete. I am really shock on this as if install in normal HDD, 1/2 hour also can't complete.

This is my home town PC, nothing much inside, re-install is very easier.

My sister only use it for surfing and social. The games I install I also seldom play there.
