I have an X92 box, 3gb+16gb variant, iinm it is unroot since the official Astro Go app can be downloaded and installed directly from the playstore, login and run with no problem.

The issue I have so far is whenever I want to play any channel eg a live tv HD channel..

1. when I play the channel, it will immediately play but in SD quality for 5 secs.
2. Then, it will pause and buffer for around 5-10secs
3. Then, it plays in HD, but lags.. for around 5 secs.
4. Finally, the hd channel plays smoothly.

I believe I'm having this issue is because i'm using my umobile gx30 hotspot hp connection, dont have unifi etc, so the connection isn't that fast enough to straightaway stream in HD without buffering.

And yes, the apk is the latest version.. either via playstore or via astro go app force update.

We are not using the same ROM. I believe he is using the stock ROM which I believe is only 32bit android zygote, I am using a true 64 bit kernel and 64 bit zygote.

Any advantages/disadvantages flashing to 64 bit?

Check with the seller.. shopee, lazada, carousell.. check the item description, it will state that the box is unrooted by seller in order to use aotg without issue.

If your tv box usage only for AOTG then TX3 Mini is best choice.
Cheap but flawless HD streaming.

Cheap, no doubt, but need to keep in mind that it's just 2gb+16gb.

Initially, I wanted to get this but then there was an offer on the tx6 at the time for 4gb+32gb at rm140 (rm5 already deducted from seller voucher), and glad I made the better choice.

Now, tx6 prices has gone up a bit (10%), tx3 mini iinm still remains the same.

Important is AOTG and ease of use. It is for elderly who already so used to Astro program.
Plug and play AOTG, right?
tx6 or tx3 is more value for money?

Previously, I owned the X92 box (3gb+16gb), and still buffers a few times before it goes hd all the way.

Now, with tx6 4gb+32gb, just 1-time ±5secs buffer is all it takes, then hd smooth playback.

Imagine tx3 mini with 2gb+16gb.. I don't own it, but if users are saying it can run, good. But to answer ur ques, imo tx6 is more value for money.

Get the Tanix TX3 S905X3. It's the cheapest and newest box that support AOTG.

is there a list which list which box currently works with astro go?

In short, try searching boxes with unroot status, or that has a root switch (on/off) in their system's settings. If there are sellers who sell boxes with root, kindly ask them to unroot as some of them do provide unrooting service.

I'm currently using Tanix TX6, originally rooted, but the seller unroot it prior sending it to me. The AstroGo app works fine, provided u have a mouse to navigate within the app.

Or u could go for the slightly better spec TX3 model. Iinm it comes with a root switch, much easier to turn off the root status, and run the AstroGo app. I don't own a TX3 therefore I can't tell how the experience with the app, but I do believe it should run fine, if not better than TX6.
