dont bother to install if u are using aftv stick/stick 4k.. 3rd gen (pendant design)..or cube 1st gen.. live tv hd lag as hell similar to mibox/tv androidtv..

what i know, only aftv 2nd gen (normal shaped box) and cube 2nd gen is working fine with latest version of aotg 2.xxx.x..

dont bother to install 8.x.x as astro already switch off the server for that version.. u will see offline prompt..

seems like there was an update to AOTG last week. Just now I tested, it needed an update. Since I use the MOD version from linglang's APK stash, cannot update over playstore.

Anyone facing this same issue with A95-MAX?

I am using version 2.193.6/AC19.3.6/04eef8c which is an older version, too lazy to keep up to the update. It did not complain requires update.

There is a problem after install astro apk and running it to login. The main login by email / password will bounce to another page to login by facebook.

Both original and mod root1-3 apk does that. I cannot seem to get to the main login screen.

Box is Zidoo X9s and Himedia Octacore H8. I did not do any root but firmware have root. Safetynet fails.

Login difficulty is due to old webview version. I guess your Android version is old, the webview is not new enough for AstroGo.

For usage/playback, rooted devices must be unrooted or you used modded version. But it's different problem from login difficulty.

The X9s is android 6.01 and H8 is 5.1.1

Update: I have updated the Android Webview from version 4 to 7 and its working and i have the login screen now.
No bounce to Facebook.

I'll test out the mod apk.

Update 2: Mod AOG noroot1 apk working on the X9s. Video playback is smooth except for some black bar space on left and right 1 inch and bottom 2 inch.

bolded... something is off with the aspect ratio... it should only happen with SD channels, HD channels should not have that.

anyway, the time will come u will get a new box that can do astrogo with ease, official apk, no hassle.

btw, the H8 is one of the lower himedia models; Q5pro, Q10pro have no problem with astrogo official at all for last 3 years... great PQ too.

sadly official aotg app doesn't work on my newly bought A95X3 F3 android box. it says my box is rooted even i turn it off from the switch.

i had to use the modded version in order for it to work. haizzz

Even u Close Root (Settings, that box still Rooted Box. (Only hide Su and Busybox)

I saw in fb group, Astrogo and Unifi PlayTV can login after u Close Root..

BUT, I dont know what will happen if u FULL UNROOT using SuperUser or SuperSU.

Maybe will get Soft Brick..

FYI, even u full unroot, ur box still not certified from Google.. Cant install astrogo or netflix from Google Play.

Im using rooted TX6, cant remove or off the root. Cant use official Astro Go app.

Previously i was using your version 2.193.2/AC19.3.2/0163930, working fine. Now it says require update

Astro is getting more and more nasty. That's why modding must be kept low profile, I think it will soon come a stage modded APK will also be detected and blocked for using their service.

Root should be able to be removed, but how easy is the key. Due to firmware variants sometimes the old ways must be adapted for new ROM.

I noticed certain newer ROMs mount the storage under different directory. That can cause trouble to unrooting apps or scripts.
