the SU 30MKM is a multirole isnt it? India is also using it. Why not just keep on buying this as opposed to an amalgam of jets?

Perhaps FA18 Super Hornet can come too. 2 types of multiroles from 2 premier defence contractors

What say you military (albeit, for some, armchair) sifus ?

MKM is MRCA correct
while the curret Hornet is Night Strike and Bomber

Right now the current TUDM does not lean towards Russia for MMRCA
while although the Super Hornet is a strong contender for the past government
Tun M have a policy not preferring the US made items unless there is no choice
*
then the options would be Russian, French, Euro, and maybe even Swedish...

that would mean we'd have makes from too many countries no? is that a good thing for maintaining them?

Right now
only Euro and US are considered
no russia

but the way we look at the current government
thing will be delayed even more

Logistic is a nightmare for sure, but we dealt with it before
but if to ease logistic burden then Super Hornet all the way
*
Just a few quick ones:

1. What's the difference between the Super Hornets and the new Eagles (F15E) in terms of combat roles pertaining to our airspace?

2. Would it be wise for us to keep everything American like our southern neighbors?

3. Following (1.), why not the F35? The SGs are excited about getting their F35

4. Again, why no Russia? The SU30MKM is our Air Force's backbone right? Wrong? Is it because those jerks are involved/caused the downning of MH17 and is not taking responsibility about it thus opening the door for future issues with upgrade/repoairs?

For joining the Wataniah, anywhere between 18 and 45. But be realistic la, most pipul after 30 won't pass basic training.

Wataniah is like reserves?

they meet what, each month or so?

It is based on the UK territiorial army, where they are for national defence only and are not obliged to fight overseas. A reserve force of the regular army still can be deployed overseas.

After pass basic training, each month you will report to barracks and stay for one weekend only (usually friday evening until sunday evening) and then up to the CO what he wants to do. Then each year got 1 month annual training camp.

That's it.
*
1 whole month training camp? Wow

Anyway.. indulge me a bit. What are the perks and pay, if any? Hehehe

Any link? As i know the MRCA program is on hold and not cancelled. On hold does not mean cancelled.

On hold, without any indication to resume can be considered as being on hold indefinitely, in other words, cancelled.

It is no different from a creative work being in a "development hell". It is not cancelled per se, but semantics. If it gets revived, it will probably come with a new set of feasibility studies, budgets, and what not - i.e. a new program

Looks like it is indeed most likely to be cancelled based from a Q&A with RMAF Chief.

Well any deliveries of MRCAs would take longer than that anyway

For wargames, do the participants fire any shots? Blanks? or none at all? Life ammunition would be too dangerous

Civilian contractors working on top secret cyber shit

Yeah, nah

Better keep them

1) under oath
2) under military discipline
3) within chain of command
4) under enlistment contract

Who knows, might be the difference between getting 15 years in jail and a firing squad brows.gif

Civilians already need to go through security clearances when dealing with sensitive info.

well, technically you're not wrong about this....laugh.gif

An LPD actually is used to 'ferry' soldiers, landing vehicles and helicopters to the landing zone.

Ah, i see2. So much for not judging a book by its cover. For this case you can judge a ship based on its looks alone cool2.gif cool2.gif

Im more interested in that "tank" (APC?) that can go into water (salt or fresh? both?) without damaging itself. Is it floating OR threading on the seabed?? Surely there are dips on the seabed, what if the tank/apc dips and water starts pouring in?

IN a war without any mapping knowledge of new areas and its seabed, it seems like a dangerous maneuver.

So... is it floating or threading along the seabed? cool2.gif cool2.gif If it is threading, it reminds me of hippos threading in the water to attack his victims

Im jealous of all those darpa-sponsored engineers... they get to do what they love (developing) and paid handsomely.
