QUOTE(Fat & Fluffy @ Oct 3 2017, 07:15 PM) QUOTE(KLboy92 @ Oct 3 2017, 11:50 PM) CANNED PAPPADAM?! Those round things are not cans, they are paper packages of uncooked pappadams. The uncooked papadam look like below pic, round thin pieces of dough about the square area of a small tuna can and the texture of chapati. Its actually super easy to cook over open flame, technically just put it on a gas ring will do. I am paranoid over getting gas in my food tho so I do it on a pan. All that happens is that it gets blistered and crunchy, or puffed up, within a minute or so. Doesn't take much to keep in stock as Class B rations and little effort to cook, certainly would be a cheap morale boost Canned papadum » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by bereev: Oct 4 2017, 07:56 AM |

QUOTE(MilitaryMadness @ Nov 19 2017, 01:56 PM) They were airborne for 6+ hours trying to burn fuel b4 attempting a belly landing. We will have to assume the crew did everything conceivable during the time to try to deploy the landing gear. Heck i bet somene even called Lockheed Martin to try to find out how to solve the problem. just a question dun think too much , always though if plane it self no damage , manual will be no problemOr perhaps are u insinuating otherwise? Maybe if all-knowing person such as u would save the day instead of those trained & experienced aircrew (who are actually onboard). |

QUOTE(DDG_Ross @ Nov 25 2017, 09:59 PM) Indonesia urged to end discriminatory virginity test for female security force applicants dafaq is this test ? what is the requirement, and why such requirement need ?JAKARTA: New York based rights group Human Rights Watch (HRW) has urged President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo to order the chiefs of the National Police and Indonesian Military (TNI) to immediately ban virginity testing for female applicants, saying the practice is a form of gender based violence. The decades old practice that includes a “two-finger” test to determine whether a female applicant’s hymen is intact was degrading and discriminatory, as well as harming women’s equal access to job opportunities, HRW women’s rights advocacy director Nisha Varia said. “The Indonesian government’s continuing tolerance for abusive virginity tests by the security forces reflects an appalling lack of political will to protect the rights of Indonesian women,” Varia said in a statement on Wednesday. “Indonesian women who seek to serve their country by joining the security forces shouldn’t have to subject themselves to an abusive and discriminatory virginity test,” she said. Despite criticism from human rights campaigners, security forces continue to impose the test, classified as psychological examinations, on the grounds that the virginity test was for “mental health and morality reasons”, senior police and military officers told HRW. All females who took part in the test told HRW that the experience of having doctors inserting two fingers into their vagina to check the level of vaginal laxity was traumatic, painful and embarrassing. World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines issued in 2014 stated that virginity testing has no scientific validity. The discriminatory practice has also been internationally recognized as a violation of human rights. The rights group further urged Jokowi to prohibit virginity tests by the Police and TNI, and establish an independent monitoring mechanism to ensure the two institutions comply. By ending the practice, the Indonesian government would abide by its international human rights obligations as well as honor the goals of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which falls on Nov. 25, HRW said. “The Indonesian police and military cannot effectively protect all Indonesians, women and men, so long as a mindset of discrimination permeates their ranks,” Varia added. – The Jakarta Post/Asia News Network https://www.thestar.com.my/news/regional/20...rce-applicants/ ![]() |

QUOTE(MilitaryMadness @ Dec 6 2017, 07:35 AM) IGP: FRU to be expanded to Sabah & Sarawak, if necessary all the while FRU job was taking by PGA why need to develop FRU there ?![]() The police will consider beefing up its Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) especially in West Malaysia if it is deemed necessary. Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said that at the moment, the FRU has 21 units with more than 2,400 personnel. "If there is a necessity, we will expand (the units) to Sabah and especially Sarawak, and also other states to ensure that issues relating to public peace and order are under control nationwide. "We will consider (expanding) if necessary, but it would be based on allocation, not only in term of manpower but it also logistically," he told reporters after officiating the FRU's 62nd anniversary celebrations at the unit's headquarters in Cheras, here today. Fuzi said he would be sending a proposal to the Public Services Department to request for personnel and would be sending another proposal to the Home Ministry to request for updated logistics. He however did not elaborate on the number of personnel the force planned to request for, saying it would be based on the approved allocation. Fuzi said the FRU needs to be improved with updated equipment to better handle situations and also for the upcoming general election. "We need (to stock up) on gas masks, shields, and also vehicles equipped with latest technologies... we are facing the election so we need these logistics," he said. Out of the 21 units in the FRU, one of the troops, said Fuzi, comprised of more than 80 women. "The women's unit (in FRU) was formed 47 years ago, but the number is still small. From the number, we might add more if needed. The role of the women's unit is to deal with female demonstrators or detainees if necessary," he said. The women's unit was deployed at the recent KL SEA Games to conduct checks among female visitors as well as to conduct surveillance. Asked about the FRU's preparation for the upcoming general election, Fuzi said the team has undergone continuous training to ensure they are prepared. So far, three exercises have been conducted and several other exercises would take place to prepare them for the election. Meanwhile, FRU Commander Datuk Wan Abdullah Wan Ishak said that at the moment, there were no FRU personnel in Sabah and Sarawak. “We have placed one water cannon each in Sabah and Sarawak but it is under the purview of the General Operations Forces. Wan Abdullah said it would be more effective if there were FRU personnel in Sabah and Sarawak to handle any sudden issues. Currently, personnel from the federal headquarters are flown in to Sabah or Sarawak for crowd control if any major events are scheduled. |

QUOTE(Protoculture @ Dec 26 2017, 01:01 PM) [attachmentid=9456150] 2007 polan say 48 this is when the contract deal, later on delivery by batch as below :Hmmm, actually berapa banyak PT-91M yang kita ada weii? UN Register of Conventional Arms (UNROCA) stated based on Poland's report on PT-91 exported to Malaysia stating: 2007 - Poland send 48 MBTs as per previous procurement. This is the numbers of the active PT-91M MBT in Malaysia. 2008 - Poland submitted report of additional 21 PT-91Ms to Malaysia. 2009 - Poland submitted report of additional 18 PT-91Ms to Malaysia. 2010 - Poland submitted report of additional 3 PT-91Ms to Malaysia. Now, let's say kita bersangka baik, Poland misreported the actual MBTs exported to Malaysia and basically the report ACTUALLY represented the previous 48 MBTs MAF already have in its inventory. Or, to play devil's advocate here 21+18+3 = 42 another 6 .... This post has been edited by bereev: Dec 28 2017, 06:34 PM |

QUOTE(Fat & Fluffy @ Jan 4 2018, 05:52 PM) QUOTE(MilitaryMadness @ Jan 5 2018, 07:29 AM) Nah, these are just administrative changes. They aren't planning on merging the forces. Before this the armed police was under both PRC cabinet and security council, not very straightforward in terms of who actually controls the paramilitary police and this can create confusion and possible clashes on whatever orders are given. Now solely under security council, the armed police is arguably more streamlined and more efficient administratively. Whether this gives the president too much power is another matter. he should unite and bring in the Fire and rescue as well , PRC fire and rescue like ignored from center govt.Their role and jurisdiction in providing internal security (not national defence- that's PLA's duty) still doesn't change.
