Saw both tvs last saturday. X80g is newer but native is only 50hz. X85F is nicer for watching movies due to its contrast and higher motionflow. Maybe you want to hold on for a while coz 65" x85G is due soon. Im sure by the end of the year there will be clearance sale for x85F.

QUOTE(donhay @ Jul 12 2019, 12:08 PM) looking to buy a 65" TV, thinking Panasonic. Should I get a OLED or UHD? read everywhere say OLED is the future, but is it relevance to Malaysia? All oleds are uhd. In term of pic quailty and motion handling, lcd panels are no match for oled. Period. If you go to electrical shops, the most outstanding ones are oleds.

QUOTE(GabanGadget @ Jul 19 2019, 07:28 PM) i have 3k budget probably can strecth to 3500. whats the best tv i can get? 60 inch minimum With that budget, can get entry level 65" like Panasonic FX/GX600 and Samsung NU/RU7300. Alternatively, Sharp 4TC60AL1X or 4TC60AH1X. Both are 60" . AL1X is AndroidTV, Edge Lit while AH1X is SmartTV, Direct Lit and AquaMotion. All can be had below 3500, both Sharps are cheaper though below 3000. All are online prices.

QUOTE(Snoopycute98 @ Jul 21 2019, 09:46 PM) X80G or GX800? Consider now senheng got do X8000G discount at RM4729, which one is a better buy? Need some comments on these two products. GX800 is relatively new, not many shops have this in 65" for display. However i think it is a better tv overall and fully loaded compared to X80G basic spec. GX800 more comparable to X85G to be honest. I've seen X80G side by side with X85G and the latter provides more detail and depth. Both X80G and GX800 are using IPS panel, but GX800 might be slightly better due to its Bright Panel Plus.

QUOTE(GabanGadget @ Jul 22 2019, 09:40 AM) after learning something i think i wanna go for super uhd tv 60 inch minimum. willing to invest more but not exceed 5k. any recommendation? i went view many tvs and found out normal uhd dont differ much from my 9years full hd tv quality. now i wanna buy new one and live with it for another 8 9 years 😅 9 years ago i was in a similar boat, bought HD instead of Full HD, thinking there wont be much Full HD contents to be watched.. Now, 4k contents are popping up with, with HDR somemore.. so my suggestion is to go straight upgrade to UHD tv With 5k budget, top up a bit more and get 65NU8000. Seriously, there is not much tv with this kind of quality at this price point. Alternatively, below 5k can get Hisense 65U7A.

QUOTE(puchongite @ Jul 22 2019, 12:38 PM) 5K for Samsung I can understand, but why below 5k Hisense 65U7A, instead of other brands such as LG, Sony, Sharp, TCL ... ? there isn't any good midrange tvs at this price point for 65" (1 billion colour, high contrast, deep black, 120Hz panel). of course, there are many models available but they won't give you the best bang for the money. good ones from sharp and sony will cost a lot more, approaching 6k. Sharp GX740 is ok though but wont be as good as the samsung. TCL in malaysia is not the same as TCL in america. can't comment on LG as i do not have much experience and they have too many models. another model to consider is Philips 6703. good PQ but average motion control.

QUOTE(puchongite @ Jul 22 2019, 02:44 PM) My reservation on Hisense is that it is not known as quality brand. So why put the bet on Hisense is my question. if they are selling the same money as the big players, then it is not worth a look. i do not know what other tv that can match samseng's nu8000 at this price point

QUOTE(Turnip @ Jul 27 2019, 11:14 PM) This 120hz panel is true 120hz? Hard to say because lack of info. Some overseas owners tested 120hz up to 1080p only.. 4k is 60hz.

QUOTE(Two5Kid @ Aug 3 2019, 07:49 PM) Digging further into this TV hole, I found another competitor that comes with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos which is non-OLED screen -- Panasonic GX880. Almost around the same price range too. How would this perform against the bigger names like Sony, Samsung and LG? Malaysian market is GX800.. and based on spec sheet it is using IPS 'Super Bright Plus' panel, as opposed to VA in some international market. I've only seen one GX800 in 55" which was setup improperly which i believe didnt do the tv justice. I was considering this model to replace my Pana Plasma but decided to wait until more shops display this model. Its still relatively new and shops hardly promoting this tv.

QUOTE(Two5Kid @ Aug 4 2019, 05:25 PM) The one I saw in SenQ was the 750 version. I copied the 880 from Panasonic Malaysia website. Anyway, I was just wondering would it be better just to get this since it comes with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos out of the box. I don't need OLED, my TV will always be in a bright room and I also do not need any wide-angle viewing. 880 comes in 75" only. You probably want a tv with VA panel.

B7700 is similar to U7B (replacement of U7A) except the OS. I would say b7700's brightness will be more or less the same as both U7A & U7B. Only 8 series model and higher can provide higher nits, which cannot be found in Malaysian market. Hehe.

QUOTE(puchongite @ Aug 24 2019, 10:12 AM) The 65inch B7700 is selling about 4k. Let say the 65 inch B8000 is selling at > RM 4800, would you buy it ? No. Because I do not want another VA panel for the living room as most people in the house watch the tv between 25 to 45deg viewing angle.... and it is too big for my bedroom.

QUOTE(my_superworm @ Sep 15 2019, 12:25 PM) Looking for 65inch tv. Went to AES superstore and were torn between, LG UA65RU7100K - RM3999 LG 65UM7290PTD - RM3799 LG 65UK6500PTC - RM3999 LG 65UM7290PTA - RM4399 Can any sifus advise me which model should I go for? The first model you listed is samsung ru7100. It is just OK. A relative of mine has the older nu7100 and i feel the screen is dim despite being at max settings. Based on my experience, if you want to get LG, get at least the 7 series and above. Best is you test all the vs and pick the one best to your eyes. Be aware that the samsung is most likely a VA panel while the LG you listed are all IPS. This post has been edited by overfloe: Sep 16 2019, 09:23 PM

QUOTE(realventis @ Sep 16 2019, 10:12 PM) thnks for the info you have detailed out.. Actually i'm also in dilemma between samsung and Lg model.. samsung model capable to process HDR10+ format whereas LG can't.. I'm now looking for RU8000 samsung series but i wonder what is the lowest price range in the market now for RU8000? Lg and samsung are always on the opposite of each other. If you want both hdr10+ and dolby vision, have a look at panasonic gx800. I have not seen one on demo as most shops are displaying gx600 in 65" which is using VA panel while other gx series are using IPS. You will need at least 500nits of peak brightness to enjoy HDR/dolby vision on led tvs, and most low-midrange LG tvs are not capable of, maybe except the sm9000 which price is close to OLED already.

QUOTE(kskoay @ Sep 16 2019, 11:40 PM) Lg sm90 and sm86 support DV....but sm86 don’t have 65inch...so the only option is sm90 which cost more than 8k....honest speaking the review looks bad for sm90 in internet.... Frankly speaking, LG NanoCell tvs are expensive and not worth the money. They are too dim.
