I checked in SONY centre MV today, model was selling 5499 with 5years warranty, but again you probably paying 1k extra for additional 3yrs warranty.

X8500e selling at 7999, this is an impressive display with android os but a bit steep of course

anyone here using the 750d model, i understand it's a 2016 model. I'm wondering which one is better because the price is almost similar..

i came across Panasonic EX600k, the design is very sleek, black level quite decent in bright condition.

How is it different by buying from shop? You not gonna carry the tv back home anyway and they can always ship you display unit

Hi all, my trusty Sony 65” is dying (vertical line on top) so I’m upgrading — aiming 85” or larger. Current shortlist:
• TCL 98C6K (huge — tempting for immersion)
• TCL 85C8K (more conventional 85” option)
• Sony BRAVIA XR-90 85” (about RM4k more than the TCLs)

I don’t have a strong brand preference, just want the best TV for the living room — movies, Netflix, some HDR, and occasional gaming (PS5). Things I care about:
• Picture quality: blacks, contrast, HDR tone-mapping, blooming/halo around bright objects
• Brightness (for daytime viewing), local dimming performance
• Motion clarity (sports and fast action)
• Gaming: HDMI 2.1 features (VRR, 4K@120, ALLM) and input lag
• Smart platform stability and app availability (esp. Netflix/Prime)
• Panel uniformity on large sizes (any backlight clouding / vertical banding)
• Reliability and after-sales/service in Malaysia (panel replacement experience?)
• Value at the price (is Sony worth +RM4k?)

Questions

1. Anyone using the 98C6K — is panel uniformity / blooming an issue at that size?
2. 85C8K vs XR-90: real-world picture/gaming differences worth the extra Sony price?
3. Any known QC or service problems with TCL in Malaysia vs Sony?
4. Which should I prioritize: bigger size (98”) or better processing/picture (Sony)?
