When it comes to LED TV, Samsung Quantum Dot & QLED TVs are the best choices in terms of value (maybe not the 2017 QLED line though..)
OLED, LG's offerings are still the best in terms of value. Cheaper, identical or better performance than other brands and easier to find.
I'm still happily enjoying my Samsung Quantum Dot TV 65KS7500. If you guys can find any 2016 Quantum Dot TVs for cheap, grab it! They're still better than most TVs and they can still give the 2018 QLED line a run for their money.

QUOTE(jdgobio @ May 18 2018, 10:18 AM) KS models are almost entirely gone. A few that I have seen were getting more & more expensive. Coupled with their allegedly poor build quality (back panel coming off), IMO they represent poor value now. If the price is more expensive than it should be, then yes, it is low in value. Not too concerned about the back panel though. Something that can be easily fixed by Samsung since it's glue-based. I got mine about RM1000 cheaper than the cheapest price on 11street.my which is why I recommended to grab one if anybody finds it for cheap.

QUOTE(jdgobio @ May 18 2018, 11:53 AM) How much did you get yours and from where? Still got stock? I got mine for RM8K (at the time, cheapest from 11street was RM8.9K) from Banhuat.com, a shop based in Penang. Delivered via CityLink and arrived in 2 days. Very fast service and helpful salespeople. It was on sale so I doubt they have any in stock now though. UPDATE: just checked, they have a 65 inch Samsung MU9000 set for RM7,999. Pretty good deal for a TV with decent HDR performance, IMHO. Although if it was up to me, I would probably save up for another RM2k and then get the LG 65-inch C6 OLED TV from Desa Home Theatre for RM9999. QUOTE(stinky @ May 21 2018, 08:09 AM) U can get 65in 8500E (pro model) at around 6k. Look at the lowest sales forum. If HDR is a dealbreaker, definitely choose the 8500E over 7000E. Wide Colour Gamut is an essential feature.

QUOTE(AMstrong @ May 21 2018, 10:27 AM) Looks like the 2018 qled price are not much different for each model. Sadly no 55" model yet [attachmentid=9813133] From what I read, the 2018 Q7 is a pretty good buy and quite the upgrade from the 2017 model. 2019 Q9 finally uses full-array!

QUOTE(michael881 @ May 29 2019, 08:52 AM) Anyone knows if I can still buy BNIB Samsung NU8000? Most shops have RU8000 now Best Denki Subang Parade has some. I just saw it on display after shopping baju raya. Brand new is about RM5K+ (can nego, I think). Display set was selling for RM4K+. I have the same TV in 65. Pretty happy with its PQ and features!

QUOTE(kkthen @ May 24 2019, 03:04 PM) I much prefer 2019 new model. 65 Gx 740. Which use last year oled flagship Hcx video processor. Some more can support dolby vision & hdr 10 + both advanced formats. it over your budget a bit. Something to consider: It's an IPS panel. Its native contrast ratio won't be as good as the Samsung's VA panel. In a dark room, black will appear like dark grey. Lighter than what a Samsung VA panel would be. Another thing to consider would be the brightness and panel refresh rate. For good HDR, you need to go for a panel that is capable of more than 600 nits on top of having wide colour gamut. a 120Hz native refresh rate would be also ideal if you're into watching fast-moving sport scenes like football. It helps smooth out the picture a bit. The Samsung NU8000 ticks all these boxes.
