Just bought sony kd65x8500e at sony the curve for rm6236.10 after discount extra 10%. You may look for Miss Fieky there

The price you got for the KD65X8500E at RM6236.10 is rather low as the advertised price on the Sony Store is RM7699 after discount. The difference RM7699-6236.10 is RM1462.90.

Did you check the price of the other models such as KD55X8000E? The price indicated on the Sony Store is RM5499. Perhaps the price in-store is close to RM4,000 after discount?

The price listed for the KD65X8000E after discount is RM7699. Original price was (gulp) RM9999 which is RM10k after round-up. RM6236.10 price that can be had in-store appears to be a rather big discount from RM10k.

Sony seems to be clearing the stock for their old models before they launch the 2018 models. Now is a good time to buy. Also, Sony Store/Centre's extended warranty is cheaper than other shops.
Once all cleared, will need to get from other resellers like HN, 1Living, Senq, etc.

I'm speculating that the new 65X8500F will probably have a slightly cheaper retail price, maybe RM8-9k due to our stronger RM now and also due to the price of 4k tvs coming down further. When I bought my first 4k tv in Jan 2016, the 65X8500C was selling at a street price of RM10k, end up have to settle for a  55" due to budget constraints.

Yes, it's amazing that the price of these TVs keep going down at a rather quick pace. So the 65X8500C was selling at RM10k in January 2016. It's now April 2018 so it's more than 2 years already and the updated model is now 65X8500E and it's now selling at a discounted price of RM6k+. When 8500F is launched, perhaps the 8500E will be below RM6k.

Good information, thanks. And good price you've got for the 65X8500E. Will be checking these TVs out soon when the time comes. The current TV is still working fine (more than 10 years already) but noticed the brightness and colour are not as rich when bought new, and not to mention technology has improved and prices of good quality big screen TVs are now rather affordable. Who knows you can now get a good quality TV like the Sony 65X8500E at below RM7k these days when it's close to RM20k more than ten years ago.
