Hello. I recently, honestly told someone via email at a software company in Malaysia that I'm using a pirated software of which I wanted to buy. I actually had the intention to purchase the software which cos rm2000-rm3000 from the company which is a reseller I think. After telling about that,1-2 days after my torrent is all not working. I don't torrent that much, only which I want to download. Is it possible that this guy report to TM that I'm torrenting and block all torrent access on my computer?

Thank you
soonwai

It’s possible but no, I’m pretty sure TM won’t do something like that on behalf of a company.

Won’t it be more profitable to capture what you’re doing and then fine the crap out of your company.

Nope. That's nonsense for them to do that.
Unless someone block p2p via router.

.....I got a feeling his streamyx or unifi account got assigned with private IP instead of public IP........which might explain his torrenting speed......

its a home unifi I'm using. I'm not a company just individual. The TM guys who installed my Unifi router and BTU didn't give me the username and password for the router. Only asked for wifi username and password that I want to use. can even ask what I want to do with router password/username. lol it make me feel guilty, but I wasn't so sure so I didn't pressure them enough to give me. so they set up for me. So now I guess I cant check my router? and can TM access via backdoor to disable p2p? thanks

If login your router, you will notice that there is no option to enter username and password.
Call 100 to retrieve your username and password.

You have every right to the router's username and password. For example to change the wifi password. What router are you using? They are usually set to defaults or printed on a sticker.

If any p2p blocking is in effect, I guarantee you that it is not done at the router sitting in your house.

tried all the possible passwords.the tm unifi passwords from the net, no luck. not even the ones TM gave me after calling 100. its a TP-Link archer router c5 router. I suspect they change it to something else. these 2 guys who installed my router and unifi last time looked like the thief kind, drug addicts. I tried to be nice to them, but they were a tad rude.

what are my options? should call for tm technician to change router? I'm also thinking of downgrading my 50mbps unifi package although I still have 1 year contract left. seems like I'm not using much of 50mpbs, and now that all the torrents aint working. sad.gif

Archer C5 default is admin/admin. Tried that?

If still doesn't work, reset the router. All you need is your Unifi username and password to set it up again. The username is in your Unifi bill. The password may be on the installation service order form. If not, call 100 and ask them to give it to you.

Test torrent speeds with one of the torrents here.

What is your current public IP? The first 2 numbers will be fine. Just to see if you're on a private or public address space.

tried many times with admin/admin. nothing works. I got the password and username for unifi. so I just press the small button behind the router right? I'm scared because 10 years ago I pressed the button behind the streamyx modem during streamyx days, everything when go haywire and cant connect, and I have to call the 3rd party technician. and they told me never to reset the modem ever again. lol.

Last 2 number of the IP address cannot identify whether is public or private IP. Mark down the complete IP then go Whatismyip then check if the IP are same. If not then you're on private IP.

BTW can you try test download with torrent that 100% have seed like Ubuntu Alternative Download to be sure TM is blocking your P2P as I am not having any issue with that even I am on UniFiBiz plan.

Best regard.
