QUOTE(Xitox @ Sep 4 2017, 07:51 PM) what is the diferent between Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons) Netcentric Computing and Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons) Data Communication & Networking ? one is named Netcentric Computing and the other is named Data Communication & Networking of course.but on the serious side, a name of a course is merely a name, and that's it. what does this mean? it means that you cannot really tell what the course is really about by just looking at the name. And each university and colleges tends to name their courses in their own manner as well. so how do you really go and tell what the difference is? by looking at the course outline from the exact university that you're looking at. take a look at the subject list, and the description of each of the subjects in each one of the courses to really find out. without knowing where each one of these courses are from, nobody else is likely able to assist you with any further details. |

Refer to the course structure from both programmes.
What I can tell is, both of these programmes will have same common core subjects. The different from both programmes would be the unique core subjects that exist for that particular programme. |

QUOTE(Xitox @ Sep 4 2017, 10:18 PM) sorry about that , course that I refer to is from UiTM , heres the link for Netcentric Computing and Data Communication Had a quick look at the 2, Netcentric seems to concentrate more on application, while data comms seems to go more into the actual network stack itself, although there's quite some overlaps between the 2.but there's still some other questions though. the netcentric computing has these 2 subjects: - Netcentric Fundamentals - Advanced Netcentric presumably that's what that gives the course its name, however there's no further information on what these 2 subjects are actually about. it could be on this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Net-centric but that's just a guess on my side the other thing that I noticed about these 2 courses is: they do go onto quite a bit of unrelated subjects to the course itself, such as: - economics - islamic and asian civilization - management - english - Technoprenuership - third language not to say that these subjects are bad, they can be good supplements to whatever it is that you are studying, just that I personally think that such subjects ought to be made available as either course supplements, or as electives, not as core course subjects seeing that they're out of the actual course scope. the other thing is, the quite large number of subjects per semester too. high number of subjects may not be a good thing, as it can mean that the depth to be covered for each subject is actually quite shallow |
