Soon-to-retire manager hits the jackpot

PETALING JAYA: For soon-to-be retiree, it was an early pension the size of which she’d never dreamt of a RM16.8 million fund.

The 59-year-old sales manager from Johor won the Toto 4D Jackpot 1 on Sept 23.

“Year 2020 has not been too bad for me after all,” she told Sports Toto when she dropped in to collect her winnings.

She said she had been betting on the registration numbers of her family’s cars. The winning combination -- 9098 and 9962 -- that she bought for RM56 won her a whopping RM16.78 million plus another RM2,016.

“I’ve been buying this combination for years, and this is the first time that these numbers have won me a prize,” she revealed.

She said she could not believe it when her sister told her that she had hit the jackpot.

The sales manager said her immediate plans are to save the money for her retirement and spend some on a world tour once the Covid-19 pandemic ends.
