Hi all. I'm pretty new to photography (5 days old, to be exact). I've always been very interested in taking photos but never really got around to getting myself an SLR. I went and got myself the Nikon D80 (apparently it's a bit too advanced for a new user like me).

So anyway, here are a few shots from my first 100 shots with my spankin' new camera.

Nothing special, I admit but I'm only just starting so constructive criticism would be welcome.

Cheers. smile.gif

are these photos have been thru any touch-ups? i suggest u try the basic rules first, before exploring the unlimited world of post-editing and stuffs like that. the 'basic' rules that im talking about are composition & exposure. do extensive practice on these 2 elements first...

Thanks for the comments guys. I didn't really do much with it in PS, just added a new layer, some smart blur-ed, some not, and overlayed/vivid lighted it.

I will try posting some humans soon as it seems to be the trend here. tongue.gif

Here are just a couple of shots I took earlier this evening.

Yeah, it is. It felt weird being up there taking photos of moving cars. I got a few friendly honks, too. Haha. Nope, I didn't. I used a tripod for both the shots. Maybe when I released the shutter I moved the cam a bit, it's the only explanation I can think of.

Edit:

Actually I think I can explain it. I think there were people walking across the bridge at the time I took that shot which caused the bridge floor to shake a bit. Yeah. Definitely that.

Cheers ac98, I've actually been in graphics design for over 7 years now. Only recently started picking up photography. Haha so yes I am familiar with PS.

Aaron: Haha I am certainly not a pro yet. But thank you, all the same.

Just got home from my mate's band performance. Took a million pictures but they were all either crap or too blur. I really need to learn how to shoot low-light properly.

Cheers.

Oh, I also decided to get rid of that extremely annoying frame around my earlier pictures and decided to make my watermark a tad smaller.

Well I was bored shitless today so I decided to go out and shoot a building or two.

And again, these shots have not been heavily edited with PS. Probably just a few basic filters applied. Some of the pictures have lost a lot of details due to it, though.

Forgive me for my boring captions. I'm a boring person.

Taman Tunians will know where this place is, I'm sure.

Hope you enjoyed it, I kinda like these shots. I have a load more but I can't be arsed to put them through the editing process so there.

Comments/Criticisms welcomed. Cheers.

Untouched by PS. Again, I'm afraid it isn't very inspiring.

Thanks guys. Really inspiring to get positive responses from my fellow photographers.

Anyways, I was bored again so I went searching for high places to shoot from.

This is my first time doing um, landscaping? I'm not sure what category this falls under. C&C welcome, as usual.
