I still have not get any call from DELL it sad.gif online check the order status said it has been shipped, but have not reach the with local shipment company level yet sad.gif but the SA told me last week, sayin it will me estimated coming tomorrow, but today i didnt get any email or call from them yet to confirm the delivery sad.gif
HAIH...
*
don believe the website...cz after they ship to the courier service..
they will not update it as they wouldn't know when it reach...
best is to call dell and screw them like wat I did...
then they contact the courier service for u to check the status..
whether it reach d or not and when they load in into d truck..
remember to ask them to contact u back when they got d news..

(currently using my lovely Inspiron 6400 to on9, the probs juz now has been solve d, thanx)

@shortleg88

the socket connecting the AC adaptor seems loose??? izzit normal?
for new AC Adapter I found that the connection are very tight. why it seem loose coz probability you only connect in half way, need to use force & hardly push it, you might hear a click sound when only fully connected

and how to put the express card slot ar? my itchy hand took it out but now having prob to insert it back in...
I guess you're smart enough to solve it after a few try

edit : and they swap the key on my keyboard for @ and "

for this issue, pretty sure that when you setup the computer, you set the default language/input other than English(US). check your control panel, make sure the default is English(US) and the default input is also English (US). Keyboard are designed based in US standard.
usually I only call Dell if I really cant find the answer or hardware failure. personally felt that very idiot to screwing ppl for only very simple question, politely ask still acceptable. maybe we should set our mindset for the notebook might is not faulty/failure if we are not 100% sure the issue, rather than always think we get faulty/failure or problematic system or very bad luck (no hard feeling). learn how to learn.
*
thanx very much... notworthy.gif
actually i oredi know d solution for the 2nd and 3rd question...
din expect hav 2 use tat much force to force it in... sweat.gif
now it's very tight...many thanx again.. rclxm9.gif

QUOTE(death_nite @ Apr 25 2007, 10:02 PM)
dude...get ur fact correct!

rules to run dual channel:

1. Capacity (e.g. 1024MB)
2. Speed (e.g. PC5300)
3. Number of chips and sides (e.g. 2 sides with 4 chips on each side)

in other word, a matching pair needs to match each other in order to run dual channel....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dual-channel_architecture
*
In order to achieve this, the DDR/DDR2 SDRAM memory modules must be installed into matching banks, which are usually color coded on the motherboard. It is not required that identical modules are used, but it is often recommended. One module of 512MB RAM could be installed in bank one and a 1GB module could be installed in bank two.

To clarify: if your motherboard has, say, two pairs of different coloured DIMM sockets (the colours indicate which bank they belong to, Bank 0 or Bank 1) then you can place a matched pair of memory modules in Bank 0, but a different capacity pair of modules in Bank 1, as long as they are of the same speed (and, ideally, manufacturer). So a pair of 1Gb memory modules in Bank 0, and a pair of matched 512Mb modules in Bank 1 would be acceptable for Dual-channel operation. This is described in some detail in the Kingston Technology paper

http://www.kingston.com/newtech/

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dual-channel_architecture

therefore it's acceptable...
