When you are dead, your family are needed to submit back your IC to JPN in order to issue Death Certificate.

Once your IC is submitted, JPN will issue notification to Bank Negara to freeze your accounts in their database, and Bank Negara in turn will issue orders to respective banks to freeze all your accounts.
Same goes to your assets. Jabatan Tanah will be notified and your assets will be frozen.

Nope the bank wouldnt know
My father passed away and i can still withdraw money using ATM (i know the PIN)

It is next of kin responsibility to close the account. Some banks do not require Surat Perintah just go and bring Death Cert
But most banks will require Surat Perintah to close account, even the balance is so small.

Already went to Bank Negara and they said they can't check any saving/current account the deceased have with banks, you need to check manually with each bank (im currently doing this, took a lot of time because need to go to the bank counter)
