I livechat with TM and was told they need to reset my password and I will get new password by sms within 24 hrs but before I get the password, will not have internet...dang it

Your username should be username@unifi
Your password will be the same if it has not been changed before.

Sorry...same with what sweat.gif ? The IPTV password?

I've never changed the password. Dunno how.

no, it's different. which router from TM are you using before this? if you are using dlink dir 850l, you can get the pppoe password by login into the router.
*
Using the TRG212M ...anyway to get it from the router itself?

Or my one and only alternative is to get TM to reset and enjoy the downtime.

I'm not sure if this method will work but you can try..

btw, if you need to get the pppoe password from TM, do contact them via twitter. some forumer mentioned he was able to get the password quicker rather than using SMS method.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I've gone the the thread previously but I just don't understand the terms. I did try to inspect the source at a few places but couldn't find anything that looks like the password. Looks like I will just have to get it from TM.

Guys, need advice. I got turboed to 800Mbps. Manage to blunder through my AC86U setup so internet is up but speedtest upload and download only about 95Mbps. So I assume my ethernet cable is the problem cos it seems like cat5 only.

Shopping now for new ethernet. Thing is, should I get cat6 or just cat5e will be sufficient?

Update: AC86U came with cat5e cable smile.gif but now download is about 430 and upload is 200.

So what else need I do to get better speed?

Cat 5E is capable upto 1000Mbps.  So could be some other limitation.  Try change to another SpeedTest server?

What device u used to connect to ur router?
1. Try wired connection first. Got what speed?
2. Then wifi

Thanks. I shutdown the router and restart the PC. Did test on ookla and TM. Happy with it although why the difference confused.gif

Not very fussy for wifi. My ipad can get 300++ so is fine.

Now trying to decide if I need to get fans since the router appears to run hot.

Direct using unifi speedtest will get the speed if compared to okla website wont get the speed. Okla website always get lower.

Mine ookla is higher... over 800 while the TM site only give me 7++

Correcto mundo..then get tack-it/blutack or something similar to stick them on the router.

This is a cheaper & branded alternative other than the ones being sold specifically for routers.
*
Thanks! But is this sucking out air or blowing in air?

Regardless of any fan that u get, just reverse the fan side and it will do the opposite.

Ok but is blowing or sucking better to dissipate heat?

There's always two schools of thought on this..it's the same argument in this forum or even on google. i.e. dust gets into router, not enough air circulation, etc.

Personally I'm blowing IN.

Check out the other thread on Networks & Broadband to survey how others in here setup their fans.

Thanks sweat.gif

But logically I would blow in too as I don't want the dust to settle inside the router. Dunno sucking out will be able to keep the dust out or not.
