Had bad experience with this router that I bought from 11street.my from a shenzhen vendor which I just received last week.

1. 5ghz wifi doesn't work since day 1
2. Updated to latest firmware 3.0.0.4.384.32797 doesn't fix 5ghz discovery problem
3. After i changed region from China to Singapore under advance wifi setting, both wifi and ethernet becomes undiscoverable.
4. After flashing latest firmware with ASUS Firmware Restoration version 2.1.0.1 tool under rescue mode, the router auto restart every 10 second.

Totally gave up on this particular router, requesting exchange. Hopefully the Shenzhen vendor responds. Too bad because I read good reviews from tech blogs but bad feedback in forums.

got this router after researching about it to replace tp link archer c7.
had to return the first unit after 5Ghz wifi became unusable after one day.
so far the 2nd unit is fine except for one problem. its hard for the hypptv stb to connect to the service.
it has the error code 108005. switching the stb off and on will get it working if lucky. already set the iptv service to unifi home in the settings using lan4.
if it does connect, hypptv is usable without any errors. just hard to connect once it is switched on from off state.
even archer c7 is better as it is instant connected. regret spending so much to buy this router with this kind of problem. the seller said to reset the router when i mentioned this problem. same problem after resetting.
wondering if anyone have any fix for this problem.

While checking the prices out of curiosity, why are these china units so cheap, up to almost 50% cheaper than local units? Can it even work on our shores?

Less problematic, meaning the product failure rate is lower for local units compared to those from china?

Don't they all come out from the same manufacturing plant??

planning to buy a router for the unifi turbo upgrade to 800mbps

1) router signal must be strong enough for 2 storey house, 22x75 house
2) with mu-mimo
3) budget around RM600 +/-
4) support unifi
5) wifi speed is not a big issue for me.
6) Saw your mi router pro review, but it must have smart switch right? is it worth to get for unifi?

My 86u is not broadcasting 5ghz network.

I have reset, reboot, reflashed to no avail.

The 5ghz light is still on, MAC address is available, disabled the 2.4ghz network, but using my phone or laptop, I am just unable to see the 5ghz network.

Mine is a China unit from TB, I have also changed region settings to Asia and Singapore to no avail.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yup. Same with me. I just got my AC86U yesterday and I'm having serious issues with HyppTV STB. No issues before this witn AC-68U. What's going on? I'm using firmware 45149 BTY. Rollback to 21140?

I would like to confirm for Maxis 800mbps home broadband fibre, under the LAN-IPTV setup, do we choose "Maxis-Fiber" or "Maxis-Fiber Special" option under the Select ISP Profile?

If I don't use for Astro IPTV, do we really need to setup this LAN-IPTV? If I set these to None then I have no internet connection. If I setup as "Maxis-Fiber" then the port 3 cannot use for PC/laptop LAN connection?

I tried changed to 'Maxis-Fiber Special'. Unfortunately, there was no connection to WAN/internet anymore! I have to use the regular :Maxis-Fiber" in order to get the WAN/internet back. That is weird. With this setup, I can only use 3 port out of 4 ports from this router? Last time with UniFi, I can use up all the 4 ports without problem. Why Maxis like that?
