Hi fellas... I'm looking to upgrade my HU (and subsequently my speakers as well.. probably). Previously I was just looking for something that can run GPS / Waze / Google Map and listen to music at the same time. But going through the multitude of the threads in this section has successfully poisoned me to take ICE a bit seriously. The car I'm driving is a Ford Focus TDCI. I am eyeing two brands at the moment which is: a) Kenwood DDX9017S priced at RM 2850.00 at Etoni http://www.etoni.com.my/webshaper/store/vi...ProductItem=283vs b) Pioneer AVH-X8750BT priced at RM 2150.00 after discount (previously it was listed as RM 2800.00) http://www.etoni.com.my/products/Pioneer-AVH-X8750BT/136Questions: 1) What are the differences between these two models? 2) I notice from a lot of reviews on the net... Pioneer AVH-X8750BT is the flagship model for Pioneer. Is there any particular reason for me to pick Kenwood DDX8017S as opposed to Pioneer considering the discounted price of the Pioneer? Thanks everyone...

QUOTE(katz79 @ Sep 11 2017, 10:23 PM) i vote the 8750 coz i'm using one and ditch my stock kenwood hu, sold it to my fellow subarist You cannot compare stock Kenwood HU with aftermarket higher end stuff. Stock HU normally is not top of the line stuff, more like mid range level, hence you'd feel the aftermarket Pioneer is surely better. If you replace with high end Kenwood also it should be better than the stock Kenwood HU from the car. QUOTE(Phantom Renegade @ Sep 12 2017, 04:16 PM) Serious lol? Ok this week I go and buy one fit into my car... hahahaa Traditionally Kenwood has a warmer sound while Pioneer has a sharper digital sound. So for me personally I prefer Kenwood and I also have used both in several different cars. The Kenwood has a 5 Volt output while the Pioneer is 4V, therefore the Kenwood should have a more open sound (if you connect thru power amp) even though both are already classified as high output (normal output is just 2V). Sound quality is also pretty subjective or a personal preference. But that is just sound alone, not sure about features. For features you just have to compare in detail and pick which one has the more suitable features for you. This post has been edited by 6UE5T: Sep 16 2017, 12:23 PM

@Phantom Renegade which one did you go eventually? Was it the kenwood? Sorry for being off topic. I'm in the process of upgrading my stock stereo and looking for a good one. From my research Kenwood is a good option. But can't make up my mind. All the reviews I've read so far are hype garbage. Actually I've tracked down a site that tells it how it is. I was eyeing the Kenwood DDX9705S stereo thanks to the review. Can you tell me how bad the screen glare is? What about the price is there enough value to justify it? I'm open for suggestions
