If i want to port out u- mobile, what should i do first? Terminate the u mobile first then apply port in to other telco?

You must not terminate your current line if you want to port out otherwise the MNP will not be successful.

Just go to the telco you wish to port to and tell them you want to port in. And of course give them the number.

Most phones have a Data Roaming setting which is OFF by default, but yes, some people have reported being mis-billed for data when abroad.

Apparently the advice is to disable 4G when overseas.

They are Third Party delers, not U Mobile themselves, that's why they want an extra cut for themselves. Go to a proper U Mobile centre to get things done without extra charge.

An honest 3rd party would never ask for anything extra. The would only ask from you what UM center would ask for.

If they as something they they shouldn't, then rest assured that you might be one of their victims.

With my past dealings with Maxis and Digi, two things can happen when you want certain things done at a dealer; either they tell you they cannot do it and you must go to the Telco itself, or, they will charge you for the service.

For signing up new accounts, they'll be happy to do it for free because they get a cut from the Telco.

I had mixed bag of experience in the past. Some dealers do charge for basic service. But still, some good dealers would not charge.

I know for Account Termination for Maxis and Digi, dealers won't even do this; they will refer you back to the telco-owned centre.

are there any charges to receive SMS (not send) while roaming? If I were to do banking transactions and receive OTP - will i be charged?

thanks.

Most telcos worldwide won't charge, but I heard a small number of telcos in Europe do charge for receiving SMS.

I just tested out the GX 30 with new SIM card. Wondering what happen if I Port in my old number to this new sim card. Does the gx30 still there?
*
You cannot "port a number" to an existing SIM. The telco will issue another SIM when you want to MNP.

if i want to make call from Singapore using umobile, may i know how should i do it. i tried to called using +60, straightaway call ended without being connected.

Did you mistakenly add an extra 0 in front of the area code?
Example, if the number you're calling is 018-1234567, then you should dial +6018-1234567 when outside Malaysia.

Got myself a prepaid to try out , using iphone here.

Even in full 4G coverage area, my phone is 95% stuck with 3G signal.

Do you guys experience this?

Wifi calling does not work, so as Volte. Hmm.....

Call CS to check if your prepaid account needs to have 4G enabled.
