QUOTE(djdyks @ Nov 10 2008, 09:08 AM) All those recent pixs also claim is entry level ... who else dare to post any more pix ... ? Relax bro. It's a malaysian thing to stay humble (false humility or otherwise), as we all know there will always another pic of killer system from someone else that will blow our setup away. Just post, so long as YOU are enjoying YOUR system and wanna share. I would like to believe those getting into HT is not a snob bunch who will laugh at lesser setups. To make you feel better, some of my gears are second hand...I'm setting up my AV room, will soon post ... after i figure how to describe the below "entry level" standard and below "longkang fish" definitions ... Any suggestions ? BASIC ? Student ? or Cincai AV for maids, children or my wife ... anything else ? Added on November 10, 2008, 9:50 am QUOTE(rthj @ Nov 10 2008, 01:52 AM) i took a look at will's dvd collection and recognized the pirated LOTR...HEHEHE It's 8' (horizontal) to fit a 100" projection. Height about 5' from the floor, reason is simply to clear the floorstanders and a ceiling light.Added on November 10, 2008, 1:54 am jc, what's the size of the screen? how high is it from the floor? i mean the distance from the bottom of the screen to the floor This post has been edited by jc133: Nov 10 2008, 09:50 AM |

Watch out for distortion from plummeting prices of LCDs/plasmas.
Some chap's 10-20K plasma would be high end last 1 or 2 year but one can get an even better spec'd model today for just 5K today. So this suddenly becomes low end in this monetary scale How about second hand gears and DIY. I know of vintage speakers and amps that one can bring in from Spore that can blow away today's made in Msia /China brands. Belden DIY cables for cheap can outshine some of the common brands such as audioquest and monster cables. Sorry, I guess this is making things complicated. Just ignore this. My proposal - the pic poster should refrain from saying whether it is budget in the first place, of which I am a culprit. This way, everyone can form a personal opinion. |

QUOTE(state of abyssmal @ Nov 12 2008, 08:45 AM) Did you go through his gear list? My sub cannot even be traded in for his cushion covers...psp boy's = porsche/lambo mine = vios, used This thread makes me more at ease, since most of our setups here are self-funded, through sweat and blood to quote someone. |
