Bro HTKaki. Nice setup and nice sub.

Is there any windows at the back of the curtain? Is so, how did you soundproof the windows?

Thinking of putting plywood over my windows. Not sure if the result will be satisfactory.

Sifu, how do you guys reduce/eliminate the echo sound in your precious HT room? I can hear the high frequency echo sound when clapping my hands at the middle of the room.

I DIY some triangle and rectangle trap using Roxul MPS400 and putting around the 4 corners and still no success to avoid the echo. On the floor, I have put on the carpet. The missing part is on the ceiling. Somehow I got difficulty to put something on the plaster ceiling, first the ceiling cannot withstand heave weight item and second got ceiling fan at the middle rclxub.gif

Maybe you need more traps. Don't just place at 4 corners, try also putting some in the middle of the wall maybe.

Actually I built a total of 12 traps of various sizes and put on various locations as below.

4 triangle traps (17"x17"x24") at the 4 ceiling corners.
3 rectangle traps (4'x2') at the 3 wall corners (the other corner got door)
1 rectangle & 1 square traps (2'x2') hang on the door
2 rectangle traps at the sides of the front speaker
1 rectangle at the back of the sofa

At front, got 90" projector screen and very difficult to put things. On top, problem to hang thing due to plaster ceiling and fan.

If I clap at my sitting position, cannot hear any echo. Echo can be heard if I clap at the middle of the room.

Will try to snap some photo after work.

To reduce your echo due to clapping test (mid to high frequencies) you need to cover the sidewall corners and ceiling as well. The corners are more for controlling bass.

My HT room setup with my DIY acoustic panels made from rockwool.

Respect, respect, respect. Can you still hear any echo after the acoustic treatment?

How you hang the trap at the middle ceiling corner and ceiling?

I used to have a bright room but found too much light reflection. Now, painted with darker color. Got more cinema feeling rclxms.gif You may want to try it.

No more echo after treatment. The foam is stapled to plaster ceiling; need to use carpentry stapler which can be bought from hardware shop.

For ceiling and sidewall, need to drill a hook on wall and small L-shape support at the bottom of the trap. It's something like hanging a picture but you push up against the ceiling with support at the base.

My next project will be to build more false traps for the walls to hide the tiles so its all black throughout and paint the remainder walls darker. (previously kitchen smile.gif)

Also, planning to build a simple diffusor at the back wall and maybe some floor lights.

Thanks for the sharing. rclxms.gif

Now, must find those foam and stick on the ceiling. I wish the foam has white in color to match with my ceiling. Otherwise very odd la

I saw the big sub inside the cabinet, tadak shake hah?

DIY sound trap. I'm using Roxul MPS400 (density 80kg/m3). The woods/plywoods cost more than the Roxul itself rclxub.gif

gocitygo, nice work there. How thick is your triangle trap?

I like the warm wall colour - mind sharing what's the name of it?
*
The thickness of the traps is 2".

About the wall color, it's a Nippon paint (Poppy color, code:356)
