Ok here is my setup. It's not great at all. Not even HT standard yet. Will be upgrading in the near future. First step will be the Marantz 6004 should I get my way.

QUOTE(sonyman @ Aug 14 2009, 06:53 PM)
here is mine, ok since no one post, very very basic, a lot of reused stuf

plus only the TV and surround spk and center spk and Amp is bought by me, the other was fomerly from old pc subwoofer and also my dad old speaker.

the setup only very cheap cheap , not expensive, not so rich to buy high end stuff to listen, kef coda ok lah. sonic gear center spk ok lah, very good indeed, but dont look down on the compaq sub, something that you can never buy anymore, cause no more in the market, i got it as a 2.1 spk for 150 each, no more loh,
there goes

so for my HT canter speaker sudah placing salah? when i sit at the sofa the center speaker straight direction to my knee postion, cause
i put in the cabinet~~~~! doh.gif  doh.gif
*
Its OK, actually, what matters is as long as when you are watching the TV, the centre sound (eg, dialogue) comes as though from the actor's mouths themselves (TV position) , not from the lantai.

Your Centre's height is as good as it gets.

Your rear speakers - will it be too high?

My rear in fact just half a meter from my ear level. Should I raise some more? Do u think surround speaker toeing in better or face each at the back if adopting for 5.1?
*
No, dun raise it, in fact, 5.1 rears should be at ear level. It is suggested at 90 degrees but I prefer it slightly back, making it around 100-110 degrees.

go to IKEA and get the LACK shelf unit. Besides birch effect, I believe it comes in the following colors too: black, black-brown, white and red. The dimensions are depth 26cm, thickness 5cm while lenght comes in 2 sizes, 110cm and 190cm. http://www.ikea.com.my/catalog/catalog_dis...asp?b=2&r=2&p=6
