wow look at the ratatuiii image...it is so sharp and outstanding...better than the whole picture itself shocking.gif

With 6m I rather built my own cinema like GSC or TGV. Might as well make money out of it. 3 back rows reserved only for LYN forumners tongue.gif

Yup, seen those pics a million times. laugh.gif

Even if I have 6 million to spare, I won't go for that, that's overkill. I don't even want floorstanders in my setup, bookshelves all the way. biggrin.gif

My very very humble set-up.

1. 32" 720p Sharp LCD LC32BX5M

2. Yamaha RX-V540 6.1 Channel AVR.

3. Yamaha P610 Speaker Set Consisting of:
4x NS-10MMT
1x NS-C10MM
1x YST-SW45

4. Sharp BD-HP20A Blu-Ray Player

5. Philips DVP-5996/98K HDMI DVD Player

6. Astro - Thompson Type.

Let me tell you I immensely enjoy my set-up. The NS-610 speaker set may look small but it delivers very good sound from it and coupled with the RX-V540, it can shake the ceiling. The RX-V540 is an ageing AVR. No HDMI and it's a 6.1 channel AVR. One Coaxial (Philips 5996 - no Optical out from this player) and 3 Optical (1 used by the Sharp BD-HP20A).

The NS-610 is also as old as the AVR. Bought together during a KL AVSHOW like 5 years back.

Video from DVP-5996 and BD-HP20A is via HDMI direct to the LCD TV. Astro is connected via S-Video to LCD TV.

Some of you may question my choice of getting the Sharp BD-HP20A Blu-Ray player. But I got this for cheap. I know it's not THE BEST player (heck its even a Profile 1.0 player) but playing it on my Sharp 32" is superb. Excellent picture quality! You won't guess how much I got the Sharp BD-HP20A for....

RM800. smile.gif It's even cheaper than a PS3 and I don't play game. So it was damn worth it. Some of my audiophile friends told me, at RM800 I'm an idiot if I did not grab it. In fact one of them said if I don't buy it he's going to grab it and use it as his second BD player. He already have a Pioneer BDP-LX70A(click to read about the player) player which I think cost around RM6K+.

The Philips DBP-5996 is LITERALLY TWO DAYS OLD. It replaced my faithful DVP-640K after 4 years. After the 640K started to get flaky (after hundreds and hundreds of hours of playtime its about time too) I decided to change to the 5996 after reading through Lowyat.net Audiophile subforum.

#4. Coming to 5 years old but have served me so so well and still in immaculate condition. smile.gif I take care of my stuff. Great sounds from it too.

great setup there, Exarkun, nice n clean.

Just wondering, do you put the sub on the console just to take pic, or is it there all along? doesnt it vibrates against the wood console?

also, custom made console?

The sub has been there all along. Under the subs are foam pads to absorb the vibration. I decided to place it there instead of on the floor, because firstly there is not enough space to the left and right of the console for the sub. Secondly it's a front firing sub so it don't really matter. If I got a floor firing one, then I have to put it down. smile.gif

And yes it's a custom made console done while doing renovation to the house before moving in. The wood is kinda solid. smile.gif

Actually, I'm targetting the v663 to replace my v540. Just waiting for a good deal on it.

A bit sad of letting go of the v540 though. It is a good amp and have served me very well. Still in good condition after 5 years.

yeah, they are not aligned with the screen indeed, that's the best i can do with the limited space.

wish i can do better with the wires at the back of the cabinet.....have to keep the back opened for ventilation. and no matter how i organize the cables..its still like vine jungle....

dude, nothing to envy about......

have to say i am proud that i did the installation myself....the brackets have been a big pain in the butt. those are concrete slab walls....not bricks.....it is much harder to drill. i actually broke one of the bolt in the wall......that was a hair-pulling experience.

getting the stuffs aligned and level was pain in the butt also. end up with other gadgets just to do all these.

check the sketch i did...hehehe....it is to scale....the thing hanging from the top were actually 2 hanging lights which i have since replaced with something shorter. this was done to make sure the position i wanted for the projector and the screen would line up
