Ok, this weekend I'll snap a few.
I followed you bro's recommendation for the fixtures, since my sitting position is smack wall to wall. "sofa at one wall and screen on the other"
I placed 4 sheets behind my front speakers and 2 pcs behind my sofa. I'm able to push back my front speaker nearer to the wall and clear the walk way.
Bass if much fuller and tight. no more loose and messy. Clarity from the horns are so clear and soothing, unlike before where it tends to irritate.
Yep, you're correct about the echo problems .. reflections of sound create a delay and turns out compressed. Layering is ok ok .. maybe i need a better player and source.

Good to hear that. I am still not that good in room acoustic. Still learning abt it blush.gif

Ben, are you running 'presence' speakers with your Yamaha? The Jamo looks sleek. Using 2 subs? As the front of your room looks bare, no issue with room acoustic?

Anyway, very nice and tidy setup. I like the black strip idea.

Bro, so there would be 2nd batch of the acoustic foams? Great. A pair is not enough for my room as the 2 pairs were meant for my bro.

I have to fine tune my room. Btw, I am in the midst of sourcing those similar foams that Auralex use. Just chat with the boss about it. I will take my Subdude to show him.

Not to mention the 'foul' odour that it emits. Unless you are a glue sniffer. Yikes!

Bro, any possibility to cut the foam diagonally?

So give more details about your opinions on the subs tested.

Kiam, you should give your comments too on the sub shootout at the sub thread. Neutral party's comment is better.

I have just finished posting the review. Now, I seriously need to do acoutic treatment for my room. The immense pressure was being felt at my main door even though my HT room is upstair. Vol level -26dB. 20dB short of reference level rclxub.gif

Me too as CHT-12R/Q couldn't go low and has lower power rating than PB12NSD. I believe it would be almost similar to PC-12Plus Vs SPL1200 scenario.

Boss, this is only considered as ngam-ngam entering 'midrange level' sweat.gif arremie also using mah tongue.gif

Wait til you see those using B&W DS7, MA RSFX, DALI Ikon 2 or Sonus Faber for surround. For elite, Martin Logan, Revel, etc rclxub.gif

I believe those patches are part of the acoustic treatment.

I too prefer a minimalist style, but unfortunately if you want proper acoustic treatment those absorbers/diffusers/traps will start to intrude into the minimalism. I guess we can ameliorate that by color matching, like in this picture you showed earlier (the acoustic panels are color blended with the room):
Yes, spot on. Acoustic treatment.

Not easy to have a proper acoustic treated room to look good (it's all abt $$$) and typical Malaysia houses are small.

The color matching (sort of beige color) on that photo looks good but I wouldn't want to hurt my neck watching the tv rclxub.gif . It sld have been fitted at abt the center speaker's height to get a proper 'eye-level'. The rack is too tall. Nevertheless, nice gears.

SF Concertino....... sweat.gif The mere mention of 'Sonus Faber', the price tag would send shiver down my spine. Don't have to talk about the speakers, the price tag for its speaker stand is enough to bust a hole in bank account rclxub.gif

Yes, I must admit that it is indeed a very good speaker but out of my range. If I have the money, my Hi-Fi setup would definitely consists of Sonus Faber speakers.
