According to the database, it has a DRAM cache, which is great: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1B27...id=0&range=B227

I would advise spending a bit more for 500GB at RM315 for better GB per ringgit. https://shopee.com.my/Crucial-MX500-500GB-2...88920.792687363This post has been edited by TristanX: May 1 2020, 10:59 PM

QUOTE(DanialTan1990 @ May 1 2020, 11:46 PM) Thx. Is there any different between in performance or reliability between m2 or sata type ssd? None, just the form factor Note that M.2 is only the physical form factor, but does not dictate the electrical connectivity of the slot - you can have either M.2 SATA/NVMe slot (or both), depending on the configuration This post has been edited by chocobo7779: May 2 2020, 12:54 AM

1. May I know , is there any website which show SSD failure rate test ? like how backblaze show ? https://www.backblaze.com/blog/backblaze-ha...-stats-q3-2019/2. Anyone can recommend a good SSD which can be use for external 2.5 hard disk ? The main requirement is Power Loss Protection (PLP) as most external hard disk may get unplug without safely remove drive. Data may be loss.Speed is not so important.PLP and able to withstand rugged movement ?

Screws all ISO standard. You just need to know the diameter and length of the screw via using a ruler. Either go buy one small pack from hardware store for RM2 or go ask random computer repair store to sell you one screw for RM10.

QUOTE(pandera999 @ May 9 2020, 05:20 PM) Found this.. still valid? other info have? snip Google for review, aint that difficult, dont buy dubiously cheap SSD, because might have poor performance (shitty flash controller and nand chip), no firmware support, no driver support, and the last and the most important one, no DRAM

I'm looking at the Crucial BX500 1TB SSD for media storage purposes (can't stand the noise of HDD) which is close to RM500. Anything cheaper or of better value?

I'd recommend 1TB of laptop HDD, mostly silent, if you dont wish to burn a hole in your wallet. My 5 HDD are dead silent too, inside my casing, of course, one of the function of computer casing is dampening and reduce the HDD noise.

The 2.5" 5400rpm HDDs? The biggest culprit is my WD Black 1TB followed by my newly bought Toshiba N300 4TB. Both exhibit this constant "humming" noise even after being dampened by my Fractal R6. It's the HDD making the noises because after I unplugged them my pc became dead silent. I think the constant noise are the "operational noise" of the HDD spinning. I could replace my WD Black 1TB with a cheap 1TB SSD but what am I going to do with the 4TB HDD? I considered turning the 4TB drive into an external HDD and place it further away from my desk and just connect to my PC via USB 3.0 cable..
