is it better to get PCI-e 3.0 x16 for a nvme ssd or it's just overkill, x4 is more than enough?
btw can we just clone the existing hdd OS to the new ssd to save the hassle of reinstalling everything?
Manada PCI-e 3.0 x16 NVMe SSD, highest is PCI-e 3.0 x4 or PCI-e 4.0 x4
Clean install is better than cloning

Picture shown is not x16 though.
Honestly, even M.2 slot is typically x5 only.

If X16 slot definitely wont be that short tongue.gif

but you can fit X4 into your 2nd X16 slot on motherboard too.
heck, lots of x16 slots on cheaper motherboards aren X16 electrically anyway, just physically x16 long:P
Just looks funny.

Do you believe this number? Or its FAKE ?

Hi guys,

Want to ask my board Asus B250F can't detect my new WD SN500, is there any driver need to install or any setting?

Tried everything but still failed. Could be the drive faulty?

Thanks.

Thanks, read this too, but the drive still didn't appear in BIOS or windows installation setup.

Even tried unplugged all my SATA device, disabled CSM, still no luck.

In RST column shows SATA devices only.

Which slot did you plug the M.2 SSD?
From the ASUS B250F specification, only 1 slot supports NVMe

user posted image

If still doesn't work, try plugging in a different PC / laptop. If it doesn't work in the other PC / laptop, that means the SSD is faulty

Likely due to DRAM shortage caused by increased demands from next gen consoles, and decreased supply caused by the Coronavirus outbreak sweat.gif

Slight increase? Last year can buy a Kingston 480GB for RM159. Now its RM100 more and still climbing. And how drastic the increase is, i just bought 120gb ssd to renew old rigs. I saw the drives cost RM79 on Thursday became RM82 on Friday..... dry.gif

at least hdd price still dropping. Lol. But may also start increasing due to covid... Some companies who are not really affected also may take this opportunity to mark up...
