Hi All!

Nubies here. Going to start LIVE!Looping soon
Hopefully got some feedback from all you guys here in LYN

FAQs:

1) What is Liveloop?
- play with a looper pedal, record and playback repeating in loops, improvise while you play, experimenting with your rig

2) What do you need?
- a looper pedal, an instrument(s), effect pedals, amp(s)/mixer, recording/broadcasting tools, etc.

3) Why do you like it?
- freedom of music, can play whatever you want, however you like, express it your own way

4) How many players?
- one is enough, the more the merrier (but sometimes worse) laugh.gif

5) Basic effects?
- drum machine for beats and tempo, synth(s) for bass, strings, vocal processor, etc., anything you wish!

*if you are a beatbox, or make use of any sampler/sequencer, no need drum machine, just be in sync.

6) Basic sound effects?
- ambient, oscillated, swells, trails, noises, clean, distorted, etc. and depends on the player rolleyes.gif

7) What is the key 'thing' for Livelooping?
- it is an art, philosophy, method-technique interaction, technology and craft of aural execution.

[Still can be discussed... biggrin.gif ]

Make it short
I've been working on it from scratch, and will share most of it here
or you can follow me on facebook -> Muddy Angel
And the most important part of my rig is The Pedalboard!
And its chain setup changes quite often, impossible to be fixed. laugh.gif
biggrin.gif

So, I will post each setup based on this format for reference:
- Test chain #XX (sound sample)
- Test rig #YY (pedalboard setup)
Easier to comment, criticize, discuss, etc.

Be free to express your music here! thumbsup.gif

*Note: My fb profile is a mess! Better here. I've a similar thread in Malay @CARI

ALERT!
All sound samples i.e. video source are from facebook
If (ofkos) you have problems playing it, open it in new window.

Ok!

If 'test chain' is for a certain pedal arrangement in a chain(s)
'test rig' is a time-lapsed (documented) pedalboard setup work.
Just a brief installation job, especially on how I run the cables and power up. Mostly, it took me more than 2 hours to complete.

The longest time for each setup is pedal mangement. Planning and setting out based on current sellection of available pedals and ofkos, pedalboard! Sometimes took me weeks. LOL.
This is the most tiring task and sometimes a bit frustrating.
Because, I only produced one (or maybe two) of it sound sample(s). The rest all in my head.

If you noticed, each pedalboard's real estate rises along the tests.
But the pedalboards itself dropped? Why?
Answer: DIY pedalboards.

I myself DIY my pedalboards to get the best fit worstation (working dimensions, layout and proper control) for livelooping. Not to fix all pedals to it, but to optimize it.

To conclude, I found out that the best solution for gigging livelooper that use a pedal switching controller, to have a tiered-hinge pedalboard i.e. Schmidt Array or any custom made that suits their own pedals. Save a lot of patch cable lengths.

Here's one of the pedalboard setup I've recorded using Asus Zenfone Max time lapse @ 2am! (I guess). Enjoy!

That Strymon Bluesky is much² better than the Digitech Supernatural, imo.
Bcoz the shimmer is kind of too spooky. Too low, too dark. Need a brighter trail.
Bigsky? Ofkos better than Bluesky. More fx, more control ability esp. midi, switcher friendly.
Btw, thanks. thumbsup.gif
