It's hard to ride terrain where we are not prepared for. I usually will turn back  blush.gif  blush.gif  Then again, we ride because we want to enjoy riding , right?  If it is too torturing, I won't do it. Lessons I learned when I was scuba diving. PADI's motto, " If you don't enjoy it. don't do it !" Not that I never done it, I did and that was the last time I ride there again.  I tried the Hulu Langat 18th mile to Titi ride. Started at 7.15am and the ride ended at 4.45pm in the evening. Like I said, I only did once.  tongue.gif

Anyway, rides like this actually builds up your confidence.  thumbup.gif

i have no problem with route and climbing.when we arrived at janda baik's entrance there are 6 of us.but 3 of them gave up while there's only 7km left to the top.that really killed my mood sad.gif

btw "tak larat kayuh, tolak.tak larat tolak, rilek dulu sampai larat".i always hold on that. laugh.gif laugh.gif

Thx bro fatani & etigge...
I skip java pro & fit already...

Btw,now i think to find a good frame...
And start from there, chromoly frame mostly...
Since ira ride quality is not that good,i will skip it mostly...
Unless i am able to fine a used unit with good price...

Now thinking to import fnhon storm / dahon speed i think...
Budget raise to rm2000...
Regarding d dahon speed,something like P8 / D7 / D8 / Falco...
How to differentiate ya?
And d falco is d best?

How much roughly itu will cost to custom folding bike?
If i plan to import fnhon strom frame & okok 451 wheelset(i suppose is d rim & sealed bearing),both at rm1000...
Is d leftover Rm1000 enuf for d remaining parts?
*
fnhon storm frame will cost you around rm7xx iinm.and as for other parts from groupset to wheelset from rm1k to rm2k.unless if you got lubang to buy those parts at cheaper price i know a guy who sell complete fnhon bikes .bought my fnhon blast for rm2050 and the only upgrade i done is the dual chainring. smile.gif

Why speeding when you can maintain your speed at 20km/j and enjoy the scenery? 😂

Good day foldies!

I recently acquired myself a new Dahon Route as a birthday gift. Been riding 10-20km every weekend for past month and currently struck with a bad case of "upgradetitis" biggrin.gif

Could you guys show me the light and what is needed (including estimated price) to upgrade my bike from a 7 speed to 9? (possibly 10 if it's not too expensive)

Also, do I need to change my crankset for the upgrade?

Looking forward to your advice! Thanks a million biggrin.gif

Oh, here's my bike  icon_rolleyes.gif

If youre looking for speed then 9 speed above is what you need but then again, its all about your leg. Mine is sora 9 speed but rarely i use 8th and 9th gear. Kayuh slow type of person i am and 7th gear is the best for me as my santai mode is 20km/j and laju mode not more than 30km/j. Perhaps you can start with crankset upgrade (53/39t) and if still not satisfied, go for 9/10 speed groupset.

wana ask if i wana pump air into my deca 451 wheel...
do i need a special connector with pump?
*
Depend on your tube. Presta or schrader valves? Most pumps comes with schrader head and and adapter is needed if using presta.

Forget about Brompton, get a Dahon Curl i4 for RM4,200. Later upgrade to Rohloff 11 spd, no other bikes can come close to you. Just a suggestion.

Happy riding.
*

Uograde rohloff then no need dahon curl la.. Basic dahon or tern model shud be ok.. 😂

i wanted to ask you guys foldies how did you make payment for an overpriced foldies like brompton because i saw a folding bike i like but cost over 6k instead of java model under 2k.  i just graduated and started to work need portable transport to move around city but at price like that just started to work sounds impossible.  does bike shop offer some installment or did you guys get some personal loan from bank?  would like to listen for advice and wanted to avoid high interest payment rate from aeon service.
*
by cash or 0% interest monthly payment using credit card i guess.why not go for a cheaper bike?

i don't have credit card yet and cheaper bike i see like java model is very heavy and cumbersome to fold immediately especially in bus or entering office.  brompton seems to be promising and i could use it a lot if travelling around for long term.  i saw some low income people able to buy road bike costs rm15000 by loan so i like to find ways how this loan procedure works buying such bicycle the brompton.
*
the your only option is aeon credit.if you want to apply personal loan i think need to work at least 3-6 months.have u try both java and brompton? by weight not too much different if you ask me but space saver and compact goes to brompton la of course.

*if you dont mind brompton look-a-like try 3sixty.same look with half the price.

This started out as an used bike.
Over the years turn into this… all in less than 1.5k. (including the helmet) spending done over 6~9months.
Now done many thousand km… ROI very good.

*Ps, set up for old obese geezer rider… plenty of wheel spoke, note the not so narrow tires, wide gear range, Wide handlebar(this is genuine BMX handlebar and stem).
*
Tokey azrul belanja satay or not? 😂
