LTWoo i see their design is quite good, in fact i like the design better than Microshift.
But i have never experienced LTwoo groupset, maybe i should have just buy and try it out.
As for microshift my experience was quite positive.

I don't know much, because I do not use other groupset before (except the Java TT original 7 speed), but some of the detail might no be as good as the branded. But it come with a cheap price compare to the branded groupset (a lot cheaper). Heart pain is lesser when scratch.

Heart itchy, feel like getting another foldie (Brompton). Please tell me that my Dahon Speed P8 is the best and that I shouldn't spend money on another foldie!

How useful is a (Tern) chain guide?

Tern chain guide is only useful if you got Neos Derailluer, Brompton is cream de la cream of folding bike. but like your ferrari or lambo, bring out susah mau jaga, and sturmey archer IHG us not the smoothest shit u will ever experience. out of tune the fella will slip gear.

If you have the spare dough, go ahead and fulfill your desires. You are not the only one doing it anyway. Brompton is more of a classic, a cult like desire. But definitely not the 'cream de la cream' of folding bikes. It's compact (best and smallest fold), that's no doubt about it and very convenient for commuters, you know the last mile transport as they call it. It is expensive because of the small numbers they make and this was before it became a cult. They did not make it cheaper even after sales grew but kept increasing profits by making more expensive limited editions and color schemes. Well, that's business, right? Can't complain about that.

While most others are spending quite a big chunk of profits for R & D, what does a Brompton need to be researched on. There's no research anymore as they maintain it as a classic design. Only colors and profiting more from the accessories.

Give time for other manufacturers to come up as their patent for the fold has expired. Companies like Dahon (the Curl) which is actually more advanced model now and also the Korean Chedech. This 2 are their closest rival for now. Both of them are lighter and more advanced. They will cut into Brompton sales. Not all are classic freaks. Why would rider want to carry a 14 kg+ bike compared to a 10 kg bike onto LRTs or buses if you are not a classic freak. Like I said, it's a cult and many buys Brompton because of peer pressure.

As to your question, go ahead, I have friends who have more than 2 of the same bikes. One of them even bought another new one because it was on sale and he already owned 3 of it. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif I think they are just happy looking at it. The Dahon Speed is a workhorse. My experience is...............I started folding bikes with the Dahon Eco C7. Modded to 27 speed and it served me well. That was the first folding bike I ridden so I cannot judge others then. Then I got the Dahon Speed , transplanted the components over and it was a better ride. I even got the Dash, Tern Link, Giant Expressway, Boardwalk, Performer velo, tried my friend's Brompton, Alex Moulton and also got to try the Dahon Dove, FnHon 16 inch, FnHon 18 inch, Trinx, XDS, Java Fit (I assembled for friends) and guess what ? None of all these actually feels comfortable like the Dahon Speed. As Joshua Hon said before, " The Dahon Speed " is the cream de la cream' of folding bikes. Their R & D on the Speed is quite extensive and till today the design of the frame is the MOST copied one till today, albeit without the Dahon's fold mechanism, the handle post design because it still under their patent. In fact Dahon still has 30 patents on their design.

So, buying another one or not is your desire because another one will just ride the same as your existing one. Unless, you want your partner to also ride the same bike lah. rclxs0.gif

Ditch that bike! Haha. The frame is heavy, tyres also heavy.

Last ride i did on 2017, that heavy bike is just as slow the as the group it rides with (mtb and rb). Can only keep up with the group pace which is only around 30kmh.

I hate that bike because it basically can climb any hill that i encounter with so far. But the thing that i hate most about the dahon speed is, it is so damn comfy that i had to ride it everyday, no matter how short the distance is, and caused me to neglect my other bikes.

here is when it make me climb those dragonbacks.

aiya..your comment on 13kg really makes me think twice on brompton, so many times want to pull trigger but hold on.
I order one cigna brompton copy to try the feeling out.
My main motive is to bring it to overseas with me hence, portability is critical.
I bought a FNhon 16 i find it very good for the price, as for portability i still need to figure out what would be the best way to bring it around, despite it can be chunked inside a dimpa bag.

another question to answer is, if indeed brompton rides better or what.
To me bike of this size is best to be limited to around 50 to 80km day leisure city ride.
as for speed, if your motive is a city rider, there are frankly not much differences among 16" or 18". at 20" you start losing portability.

cigna i already tested the folds. never test rode it. the fold is not as neat as the B. but least to say, it really is not my cup of tea, even if it's a B copy.

yes, i think for 20", it's easier to put in the car, while the 16" and 18", it fold even smaller making it much easier to bring it on a bus or train. even better if it's llighter too, since we need to carry it around from station to station. 13kgs bike, think i'll get a good arms workout too..

I went to have a look at the Brompton during my lunch hour. I held it and it doesn't feel lighter than the Speed P8. Actually, no pull factors for me to get the Brompton also. Just thinking.... Just thinking.... I think I'll save my money smile.gif

One thing about Brompton is the attraction is great. Even myself was tempted to get two of it but the sale failed because the 'towkay' Eng Hern here was arrogant. I think I am lucky in a way too here in Taiping as there are not many B riders here. I only know one who collects Bs and AMs. He even got the limited edition red and white Brompton for 11K , I think. Not too sure. But he rarely rides, never with me though because I am not a Brompton rider or an Alex Moulton rider. If some Brompton riders from KL or Penang visits me, he appears with his wife , both on Bromptons. So, I guess he only rides with Brompton riders. Don't really mind anyway. biggrin.gif

You see, if your group of riders are majority Brompton riders, you will eventually go for one regardless if the bike is really worth the bucks or not. That's is what we call, " The power of conformity ". Don't believe, check the Youtube below, tongue.gif tongue.gif

What's is standpoint?
Anyway, may I ask what is the part at front fork there?
And the rear, I do install the kickstand, but what are the holes there for? No idea

That's for the magnet. Use to hold the two section when folded.

Rear sure can fit but middle don't have kickstand hole. Then again doesn't matter since rear can fit. Rear magnetic hole not sure but front comes standard

Recently bought a java fit for my gf, intentionally wanted to buy a dahon, but she likes the java due to more gears to play with.

Any good place for casual cycling around PJ area? Thanks~

I had been commuting with my FGC quite alot. in and out MRT and LRT. Manage to install a kickstand and work like a champ now. magnet is fine as i wont fold and rill for long distance.
I find this frame very comfy withe long seaptost, bouncy effect which literally take away the vibration on least condition road. Brooks saddle add point as well. So far very happy with this.
