Once seat post too long or front fork upgrade from original size then high possibility the frame will crack. Because the frame original design is not tackle those size.

Your frame is alloy or carbon ? If alloy still can recycle the frame.
*
It is alloy frame. U mean get someone to weldback?

Yeah the rider is like 184cm on 20inch bike.

Alang2 full carbon mini velo!

We decided to sell out these parts, and already order cheap china carbon frame 700c rb + sensah empire groupset 11 speed over the weekend.

Total estimated cost : should be around RM1.6- 1.7k rm, ( only part used back , hollowtech bb+ litepro crank, maybe will get smaller chainring later on, coz current chainring is 56t, too big for rb).

Gonna self build.

Hopefully the outcome will be good.

wanna share my experiment here. notice my small cog?

user posted image

last time, i wanted 14t on my 11-23 8s casette. since buying any brand casette, i wont find that 14t unless i upgrade to 9s  but that would cost me extra on shifter. since 8s casette nowdays became cheap, so why not i try to mix 2 casette. i mix 11-23 and 11-28 casettes

user posted image

i bought sunrace casette 11-32. within that ratio, i saw what cog i missed in my 11-23 casette. both my casette are sunrace, and sunrace casette u can open it piece by piece

user posted image

and here i got!
8s 11-18 casette. only 1t jump each casette

user posted image

and why im doing this?

do you have a feel mostly flat road/rolling when up gear, u will feel too loose and down ur gear feel too heavy?
i feel something missing there. thats why i try to experiment new ratio

are these ratio enough to climb hill?
for me yes. since im running on 16” 349 i had double chainring setup, that is 53/39. i had tried few hills such as fraser, blk pulau or jerai. the max cog i used only 15t so i decided to used this closed ratio casette.

and here we go laugh.gif
*
So you only use 5gear now? Haha
Easy to tune?
Last week, I also swapped my 8speed cassette from 12t to 11t( from another cassette) , but only one cassette.

This is another way to go lightweight. Hahah

ya..thats why i experiment on 8s
true laugh.gif
last time only 4,.. 11t,12t,13t and 15t.. no used another 14t so yup the total is 5 laugh.gif

tuning is not a problem. as u can see from the pix, im using 105 5700 10s detuned to run only 8s

Nice!.

i have one question ,

i am currently running on 53t , but thinking to go double chain ring, 39t smaller one ( because got left over claris FD), but my square taper spindler (the batang) look like short (last time, the bike shop ppl say i cant fit double chainring because the spindler too short).

I need to change whole BB or can only change the batang?

consider ur using square taper BB,
if u are a good mechanic then u can change the batang tgh (they call it spindle)..

otherwise,

better change new bb. square taper bb nowdays are cheap compare to hollowtech
*
I just need to change to longer one right, then maybe i get new square taper BB.
any affordable BB to recommend?

The BB there I think will indicated the length, then maybe I add few MM when buying next BB so I can fit 2nd chainring

sava also a good brand. quality ok, but performace wise not the best. its nearly the same design like cippolini. by far its better than oem/fake bike.. whistling.gif

Haha thanks, I didn't really research much , just buy which is cheap and affordable.

Try first, will upgrade the parts to 105 groupset later , if sora groupset not enough/ spoil.

Haha

Yeah a good wheelset is more important, can Increase rolling speed and weight.
