Hi, newbie here... I've read that the price for folding bike increased a lot recently. Is the local store pricing more reasonable now?

Can you guys recommend best brand/model for below RM1K?

Hi sifus,

I’m interested to buy a folding bikes from taobao directly. Just wondering will there be any additional tax to be paid upon arrival in Malaysia or anything to be pay attention to?

Thanks!

My wife's foldie is a 1st gen Fit from 2012

afaik fit is 406 wheel, i think they had switch to 451 wheel in recent years. but still i have heard if different stories, so depending on the seller's stock i guess? wheels are interchangable anyway, i just swapped to a 451 on my wife's fit recently.

the TT has a slightly rounded main tube compared to hexagonal on the fit.

The TT doesnt come with a detachable RD hanger like Fit though, not sure if it is good thing or not.

Both are same 18 speed running on Decaf branded RD & FD (2x9 setup, but my first gen is 2x8 setup, though in the past Fit uses Altus on both RD & FD. not sure about TT)

Current Fit frame somehow looks slightly nicer than the old Fit.

If you're deliberating between Fit or TT, i would cast my vote on Fit.

but if you dont mind used, i have a friend letting go of his good condition Tern C8 for only RM1.9k, bought August last year. he is jumping ship to FnHon.

Thanks for the insightful explanation.. I've gotten myself a fit last week but was left wondering when many ppl mention TT. Hence my curiosity. I'm new to biking, can't tell whether my fit is good nor bad. Really hope to be able to try tern or fnHon in the future..

Curious to know if anyone has any experience with the HIMO Z20 / Z16? Interested to get into electric foldies and keen to hear more about the overall experience from maintenance to practicality. Maybe even other options of brand/model of an electric folding bike. Hope to get some thoughts and feedback! smile.gif

Good weekend guys!

My fnhon breeze...after tried few chainrings setup (47T>54T>52T>50T>41T), i'm finalized with 41T + 9/13/17T

47T is the chainring comes with the bicycle, but i would say 45T will be the most balanced setup with 9/13/17T sprocket.
for speed wise, 50T is fun to ride.
54T chain will be hitting the seatstay while riding.
54T and 52T is slower than 50T because my leg not enough power to raise the cadence.
for my usual route 41T to 52T average speed not much different so i settled down with 41T.

just get a 20inch folding bike last week. planning to change the crankset to litepro one but i notice most of the crankset selling are for 130 bcd. i measured my one seems is 110bcd the distance between is around 6.5cm. can i just buy the 130 bcd one change the whole crankset 110 bcd to 130 bcd? and is it worth to change crossmac yesterday 20 inch to java fit or java tt451?
thanks.
