I want non plastic type, lightweight, less than rm50

Got foldable detachable alloy pedal?
*
Small and light can get something like this

user posted image

It also has a detachable option

Price varies depending on platform and seller though, and sometimes the large difference in price made me suspect there could be imitations. I have one that is similar but different brand. Useable, but if not because of weight concern, I would prefer the sure-footed feel of large platform pedals like these

20" (406) : 42T + [11-28T] for what purpose bro? it seems too low for flat road riding.

why not 52 or 53 crank, but 11-34 cassette? that should give a similar ratio for climbing but a much better ratio for flat road compare to 42

lol…no la…just a gear inches guide for those cheap bikes.

not too low for flat road riding la…42/11 can paddle 30kmh, enough for santai riding.

it's a common question been asking in those fb group over and over again for those cheap bike with 52t + 11/14-28t freewheel not freehub who asking why hard to climb with 20"

I got some questions about chain replacement.

My Tern Verge P20 (2014?) chain snapped last year, lazy to get a new one until now.

What spec and brand should I go and how much does a bike store usually sell and charge to install it?

Thanks!

should be a 10-speed chain

KMC is the go-to brand but plenty of fakes, sometimes bicycle shops themselves dunno are fake KMCs because they just take whatever supplier gives them.

if you buy from the shop and install there immediately, installation is free lah (more like the price already included installation labour in profit margin)

how much? i dunno - just go shopee/lazada survey to get a rough estimate lor

to clear things up, this is not pikes 5speed 1st gen. its pikes 6speed 2nd gen. i sold off my 1st gen pikes to get this one.
and for comparision, its 80% compatible copy of B. the big different is rear triangle

ok, to answer ur question. both bike for different purpose.

i used zephyr more for aggressive riding when distance are less than 50km or im on travel.
i used pikes for relax and santai riding when distance are less than 50km or im on travel.

plus point for pikes becoz of the compactness compare to zephyr. but another plus point for zephyr bcoz got many gear and using qr for the wheels sweat.gif

woooow...now i see. looks like the improvement of 2nd gen worth the efforts to make you sold your 1st and and get 2nd gen.

u mean big difference of rear triangle is [1st gen vs 2nd gen] or [2nd gen vs brompton]?

looks like the 2nd or 3rd gen pikes really good for santai riding.

do pikes user need to mod the cogs and chainring for better hill climb? i have no experience in this internal gear hub sweat.gif

i'm thinking of selling my wife's java neo2 and getting a pikes. is there any differences between pikes gen2, gen3 & 3sixty? 3sixty is much more expensive than pikes.

the biggest different in pikes gen1 and gen2 is their handlepost, reach and frame length.
1st gen smaller than the 2nd gen. and handlepost more close to rider, making taller rider like me suffer for a long ride.

the biggest different between pikes gen 2 and brompton is the rear triangle. pikes gen3 are more to cosmetic. i would said its facelift version. the only different is their fork, package bundle on to it.
the rear triangle length are different from brompton, based screw are different and even the tensioner position are different,. i had to mod my litepro tensioner to fit my pikes. besides that, u still can use brompton/after market elastomer, seatclamp, mudguard, racks and also the easy wheel.

and yeah, many pikes user mod their 2nd cog to bigger sized for more wide ratio gearing. as u can see, the internal hub pikes are not the same like brompton. its the same model, but brompton made a special tweak on the hub.

pikes and brompton gave 13t/15t combo of cog. but brompton had wider ratio in their internal hub. to make it possible feel like that and save ur pocket, many of pikes user change their 2nd cog to 19t or 21t is the max. i've tried to put 18t to my setup. but i more prefser closer ratio on all my bike. still adopting this 18t for a while since i had 2 wheelset.

the touring spec i used 18t. and this highprofile wheelset i change to 16t and feel very comfort about it. dont know about u, but i dont like wider ratio since pikes or brompton are limited to 6speed only.

the easiest way without changing the cog is to used double chainring crank either with fd+shifter or manually change it without loosing close ratio and got wider gear option. but still, it wont be nice to put double chainring on my eyes.hahaha...

u seem interested on pikes. are u owning one?

if ur thinking to get santai compact bike,
pikes are the one. better get gen 2, or facelift gen 3. i already explain the different for gen1, gen2 or gen3. for me 3sixty are overpriced, but the build qc are better than pikes. there are some issue with new pikes got spoke broken (i got one too, thats why i change to high profile wheelse laugh.gif ). i didnt have chance to compare the 3sixty up closed, so i didnt know the different much. from what i can see from the net, 3sixty is 90% copy.

later i will update. got 1 friend in ipoh using the 3sixty

thanks for your detailed explanation, appreciate that.

no la…thought of getting another 1 small folding 16inch…
but after judging from your comment on pikes, looks like those zephyr is more suitable for me.

actually i am looking at something like dahon dove d8 (short wheelbase 16")…but too bad fnhon doesn't clone that frame.
