Try first, will upgrade the parts to 105 groupset later , if sora groupset not enough/ spoil.

Tern P9 vs XDS K12

The P9 frame much much stiffer than the K12

Many differences between those two, especially at the folding parts, which is much beefier on the P9.

K12 lose in every possible way, except pricepoint. at MSRP, the K12 is rm few hundred cheaper and comes with full sora groupset + tektro hydraulics.

try and ride 1st, later find a good wheelset to pair with. groupset are not much different compare to good groupset
now u know the different between premium bikes and cheap bike.

yeah, the china brand folding bike nowdays does came with good package, but feel are still not the same

now im comparing cheap bike with premium bike.


pikes element gen1 5 speed

so far, feel nearly the same but got few different compare to brompton
- some sway and flex feel
- soft rear absober
- posture not for me

i heard the gen2 pikes element does feel better, and 95% feel and copy brompton

LOL, all these while just read articles and reviews. after riding the real thing, the advantages are very clear.

the best thing is... the p9 has square tapered spindle BB and the XDS has hollowtech bb, and it the cranks feel stiffer when u ride off saddle on climbs on the p9. no noticeable flex at the bb area.

square tapered bb feels better than the hollowtech?

i dont think its becoz of the crank different, but flex and stiffness different bike determind end result on the climbs

what i want to say is the p9 can climb better than the xds because the frame has no flex

i just change my square taper bb to hollowtech bb. not yet try climbing 

if u climb while on saddle, u wont feel the difference

it must be an off saddle climb, with the biggest chainring & smallest cogset that u can afford to. its really fun. LOL... especially if the climb goes on and on and on... and u r trying to cheat yourself by saying cmon, the end is at the next corner. just 1 more corner
