QUOTE(nas445 @ Feb 10 2020, 08:23 PM) Planning to go to Kyoto/Osaka this coming April. Planning to cycle from Kyoto to Osaka one way, around 60km. Most probably will bring a 14' from here.. don't worry if it is doable or not…u can always take train from the station to osaka via keihan main line.Do you have any photo on how you pack the 14' into a luggage? Any idea whether it's doable to do the distance on a 14'? i guess you might want to cycle from sanjo all the way to fushimi inari, from there take train to yodoyabashi. |

QUOTE(lerijiso @ Feb 26 2020, 09:39 AM) Hi. First time posting in this tered. tern d9 is a good choice, if u can't find it in penang why not travel to other place to get it? of course call to ask for stock 1st.Wanted to get into cycling but I have no space to keep a full size bike, hence the interest on folding ones. I Went to Rodalink Bayan lepas yesterday in search for one but they don’t have stock for a tern d9 which is what I’ve been eyeing for a while now. I’m stretching my budget to 3k but that’s probably the most I’m willing to spend for a foldie. If I can find one for less than that the better because I still have to get accessories like helmet n other stuff as well. Since I’m a beginner.. any other suggestions for other models that I should be looking into? Also where to get it in Penang or Seberang Perai area? Need help. Edit: I’m not a hardcore rider.. just looking for some motivation for exercising and get healthier. I’m not opposed to getting bike online too if there’s a good deal. Just needed a starting point. else have a look on taobao? those customized built fnhon. if u like tern d9 then fnhon vg2018 looks alike. https://shop.m.taobao.com/shop/shop_index.h...id=520363905100 This post has been edited by BOTAK_WAI: Feb 26 2020, 07:10 PM |

QUOTE(lerijiso @ Feb 26 2020, 07:31 PM) They have one at rodalink bangsar. They Said if I confirm I want it they’ll bring it here. then just go rodalink bangsar je…Those Fnhons looks great. Many Sifus here also praise them a lot. I don’t mind it but taobao gg. Now with the outbreak situation, might encounter shipping problems. Also, i can’t read mandarin so a bit tough to negotiate. I’ll go foldie hunting again this weekend when I’m free because fnhon only sells frame, those customized built 1 are from the seller…basically those unit considered "upgraded/optimized" unit. shipping from china yea need communicate with the seller. if u don't mind more expensive unit i think bbs also got some. but not as many choices like taobao la… btw…if u are not into speed but just want to have a ride and u do have space concern, u can look for brompton copy like element pikes 3/5/8 speed. but of course the tern is a much much better bike la This post has been edited by BOTAK_WAI: Feb 26 2020, 08:43 PM |

QUOTE(azamunekurone @ Mar 2 2020, 05:40 PM) last time, i think 5 or 6 years ago and that time joshua still with dahon and didnt create tern yet, haha…ya, tubes should put together in same category with pump.all dahon bikes equip with the seatpost pump. i also had one that i'll be using it when go touring. still the seatpost pump also heavy compare to normal seatpost, and worst weight penalty compare to lighten seatpost like litepro no 6 sometimes may cost u high depends on ur taste. like rapha jersey, used also price around rm150-250 woo depends on model. gila! i also had spent 3 month savings to buy a used one... no 5. pump, gauge/meter and tubes. those rapha, pns, vertex london slim fit jersey are sexy couldn't afford those. btw…any recommendation on shoe? light weight non cleat 1. |

QUOTE(azamunekurone @ Mar 2 2020, 06:35 PM) pns and some rapha jersey i buy copy AAA one. also good enough la. still can used, and look handsome until 1 day i wanna try ori. those ori jersey not only different fabric material, but those cutting and comfortness are really different lor.. so for now, i slow down on jersey and concentrate decorating my house only. i see…thanks for sharing last time i used croc and also some running shoe. but the drawback is the softness. why? i think i do pedal hard, but cannot go fast. after a while i do search around and do some research and found out that it waste my energy. soft compound shoes are good for running, it absorb preasure for ur body to the leg. but not for pedalling coz u can fully transfer ur power to the pedal 100%. so i adopt cleat shoes after that.from that, i never used normal shoes. i also had cleat sandals for touring and raining purpose. but as for leisure, i do think croc are good enough lor. u dont cycle until 100km per ride, kan? QUOTE(clickNsnap @ Mar 6 2020, 09:34 PM) Yup, the bike comes with original 14-28t freewheel. it's 7 speed.Still able to find 6 speed 11-28t freewheel now? Can DIY? Thanks. shifter is cheap. rd not sure if compatible or not but it's cheap to change as well. if u don't want to change both, u can use it as 6 speed 11-24t u change crankset wont gain u a lot of speed. QUOTE(clickNsnap @ Mar 6 2020, 11:05 PM) Noted and thanks for the advise. u can get the freewheel from here, the 7 speed freewheel and don't forget to buy the removal tool as well.Likely I will opt for 11-28T freewheel with "6 speed 11-24T" for now, don't want to spend much, just want a bit faster on flat road. Btw, how much did you spent on the upgrade for the your XDS FA-20? https://m.intl.taobao.com/detail/detail.htm...id=524782965694 ya, because u want a bit faster on flat, better change the freewheel. with ori 48T chainring and 14T freewheel, you could only achieve 55 gear inches. if u change crankset or chainring, you only can change to maximum 54T (the max without have to change the chain), you could get 62 gear inches. if u change 11T freewheel, you could get 70 gear inches with ori 48T chainring. |

QUOTE(clickNsnap @ Mar 7 2020, 12:44 PM) i really have no idea if the 6 speed rd and shifter will compatible with 7 speed freewheel or not. some said can change shifter je then will work with ori tz rdhttps://www.discuss.com.hk/viewthread.php?t...=1#pid337639564 mine is just 7 speed to 7 speed plug n play. because if not compatible, 7 speed shifter easy to get…just afraid dinosaur 7 speed short cage rd hard to get je… This post has been edited by BOTAK_WAI: Mar 7 2020, 09:25 PM |
