hi guys, recently bought brompton copycat the element pikes..the tyre size is innova 16 x 1 3/8 | 37-349..tried to look into the internet and quite hard to find nice tyre..just wondering if i can use other size like the 16 x 1.50 | 40-305 (not sure this is correct or not) or the 16 x 1 1/4 | 32-349 or the 16 x 1.35| 35-349?

Anyone here managed to fit a bike inside a regular suitcase? If yes, which bike model?

Planning to go to Kyoto/Osaka this coming April. Planning to cycle from Kyoto to Osaka one way, around 60km. Most probably will bring a 14' from here..

Do you have any photo on how you pack the 14' into a luggage? Any idea whether it's doable to do the distance on a 14'?

Is it possible to build a 14' fnhon foldie with an internal hub? Is it an issue to get a 14' rim suitable for internal hub?

Wanted to get into cycling but I have no space to keep a full size bike, hence the interest on folding ones.

I Went to Rodalink Bayan lepas yesterday in search for one but they don’t have stock for a tern d9 which is what I’ve been eyeing for a while now.

I’m stretching my budget to 3k but that’s probably the most I’m willing to spend for a foldie. If I can find one for less than that the better because I still have to get accessories like helmet n other stuff as well.

Since I’m a beginner.. any other suggestions for other models that I should be looking into? 

Also where to get it in Penang or Seberang Perai area? Need help.

Edit: I’m not a hardcore rider.. just looking for some motivation for exercising and get healthier. I’m not opposed to getting bike online too if there’s a good deal. Just needed a starting point.

They have one at rodalink bangsar. They Said if I confirm I want it they’ll bring it here.

Those Fnhons looks great. Many Sifus here also praise them a lot. I don’t mind it but taobao gg. Now with the outbreak situation, might encounter shipping problems. Also, i can’t read mandarin so a bit  tough to negotiate.

Will be my first bicycle in almost 20 years. Last time during secondary school got a cheapo mtb.. first n last bike. Everyday did wheelie and felt so proud lol.

Now will have to get accessories. Need to spend more money.

i think tubes more important lah.. pump also needed.. but later he/she will learn from mistakes

last time, i think 5 or 6 years ago and that time joshua still with dahon and didnt create tern yet,
all dahon bikes equip with the seatpost pump. i also had one that i'll be using it when go touring. still the seatpost pump also heavy compare to normal seatpost, and worst weight penalty compare to lighten seatpost like litepro  
no 6 sometimes may cost u high depends on ur taste. like rapha jersey, used also price around rm150-250 woo depends on model. gila! i also had spent 3 month savings to buy a used one...  

no 5. pump, gauge/meter and tubes.

pns and some rapha jersey i buy copy AAA one. also good enough la. still can used, and look handsome until 1 day i wanna try ori. those ori jersey not only different fabric material, but those cutting and comfortness are really different lor.. so for now, i slow down on jersey and concentrate decorating my house only.

last time i used croc and also some running shoe. but the drawback is the softness. why?
i think i do pedal hard,but cannot go fast. after a while i do search around and do some research and found out that it waste my energy. soft compound shoes are good for running, it absorb preasure for ur body to the leg. but not for pedalling coz u can fully transfer ur power to the pedal 100%. so i adopt cleat shoes after that.from that, i never used normal shoes. i also had cleat sandals for touring and raining purpose.

but as for leisure, i do think croc are good enough lor. u dont cycle until 100km per ride, kan?

Talk about helmets, those are mine. All santai type of helmets. My favourite are bwrn and brooks.

I have a Trinx1606, I felt the 48T crank is too slow... due to budget concern, any possible to change to bigger crank spider only, without changing the crank arm and bottom bracket? I use the bike for taman ride only

Yup, the bike comes with original 14-28t freewheel.

Still able to find 6 speed 11-28t freewheel now? Can DIY?

Likely I will opt for 11-28T freewheel with "6 speed 11-24T" for now, don't want to spend much, just want a bit faster on flat road.

Btw, how much did you spent on the upgrade for the your XDS FA-20?
