The reason why it's cheaper to get it locally (via Maybank) is because we aren't using Paypal for the transaction.

Paypal charges around 8% per transaction + (internal conversion rate) for MYR so it ends up about the same for us vendors.

We want to lower the cost for Malaysian buyers that is why we setup a local entry point for Malaysian buyers.

In that case, why don't you do local sell first?

We have always been marketing our sales on Facebook. It was only until recently we have decided to extend back to our roots, i.e. Lowyat Forums.

The core reason why we have not been openly marketing on Lowyat was because of reseller negotiations. Our rule is not to interfere with any potential local resellers we may have locally due to conflict of interests. Earlier our plan is to setup a chain for local resellers so customers can also try out our products in real life, while leaving Stoner Acoustics Online as an international store front.

I see, but this is unfair to those early local buyers. You can change your business model anytime that makes us feel cheated.

Earlier prices of USD 99 is around RM430 (not includes mark-up from the banks) which is RM100 or 30% more from you price it here, PayPal charges 8%.

We're sorry if you feel this way, but we'd like to assure you that this was not our intention at all.

Unfortunately our reseller negotiations did not work out according to plans and considering the rising interests in local buyers, we had to promptly make a decision to open up our channels here locally instead of going through a reseller.

Unfortunately, that is the price we pay for convenience. We would like to explain that at the vendors' side, our actual received currency is as the stated price as well due to vendor side paypal charges.

It would have been slightly cheaper if the transaction was done using actual paypal USD instead of MYR to USD.

Ok. Maybe you can put footnote: price quotes might change without notice.

Just for clarity purposes, the prices will only change for the following scenarios:

1. Fluctuating conversion rates and e-commerce platform charges if users buy with foreign currencies. An example would be buying via Paypal using MYR from local banks. (this would no longer happen because you can now deal with us directly via local banking systems)

2. Buying through Malaysian banking. In this case, because we are now dealing locally without an e-commerce platform, the prices will reflect the amount we actually receive at the vendor price. This is why for Malaysian buyers, the price point is lower, i.e. you do not have to go through e-commerce conversion rates and service charges. (again no longer a concern for local buyers)

3. Possible discounts during festive seasons. (Normal online shop operation)

Officially, our prices has always been fixed at $85 USD Internationally (has never been changed) and now officially RM 330 locally.

Again we apologize if you feel that we had been unfair to early Malaysian buyers, but hopefully we have managed to clarify our reasons and intentions clear enough.

Yup, that has been one of our plans, but we're sorry it didn't work out as intended.

If we did have a reseller locally, it would be in very poor taste for us to also market/sell directly to Malaysians due to conflict of interests.

Most modern android smartphones can just connect to it fine wink.gif

You don't need a splitter unless:

1. You want your handphone to NOT power up the USB DAC
2. Your handphone does not have sufficient current to support USB DACs

Hi big1,

IEM noise is a tricky question to answer:

1. Output noise is largely dominated by PSU design. The PSU noise may come from your phone's switching supply.
2. Impedance mismatch caused by the interaction of the amplifier and the IEM. (this would help if you use some good inline resistors)
3. The UD125 works for most IEMs and Headphones, we do not have a customer with a noise problem, but again this is purely down to how QUIET you want it to be. If you want the best "black" background then you simply have to run linear power supplies, unity gain amplifiers etc.

We hope this helps answer some of your questions.

hi mate, just curious is there anyway to test UD125 with my IEMs, the Kz Zs6 and heaven II ?

currently both IEMS produce hiss when i plug in to my phone (huawei P9 and Mi Max) or PC. but no hiss when plug into a good sony mp3 player.

can UD125 do the job by lower or eliminate the hiss, so that the produced sound will be clean? or should i just stick with inline resistors?

Item arrived yesterday, UD125 able to raise the volume of my Superlux 668B compare to just computer audio jack.

Sound also from IEMs such as KZ, Hi-Z, Piston HD, Fischer Audio also feels more alive.

Letting a friend testing it now and he also impressed by it and he's also thinking of buying a unit if he cant DIY it himself.
