QUOTE(hazairi @ Aug 17 2017, 08:15 PM) Even the price in Singapore is SGD 1300, converts to RM, = MYR4100 wish we had newegg ask friend to help buy from SG lo, but then warranty sendiri kautim. EVGA GPU from Amazon is nice, if you're lucky and yolo then can save a bit depending on how much difference. some countries like India / Aus / NZ also very high markup.

The distributor makes a good margin. That's the reason why.

QUOTE(g104 @ Aug 17 2017, 08:07 PM) Straight away buy from Amazon & stop wasting time your time in Lowyat. If you're worried about warranty, I ensure there's no difference at all. Is asus warranty international? So can claim from local asus?

The guy mentioned there's no difference with warranty which got me curious about the coverage Got no problem to ship back to us, although would be nice to know if they actually do accept it

QUOTE(yhsiau @ Aug 17 2017, 02:19 PM) The same shits also happened in any newly launched gadgets/hardwares... Distributers loves jacking up prices. Recent example is RX vega... Lingloong's Saphire Vega sell @ 3499rm. All SOLD OUT!!!. US retailers have fucked up vega price at launch, when it comes to MY shore, expect even more expensive. performance per dollar, with that price why we buy gtx with gsync monitor than overpriced & overhyped vega.

So, u can forget about international warranty on peripherals products. Correct me if I am wrong.

I have a feeling that next incoming hyped products regardless brands going to increased the price. I bet the pascal refresh / navi products going to cost more... Both amd & nvidia had done fixing price before. This post has been edited by yhsiau: Aug 22 2017, 11:02 AM

GC becoming luxury items. So long as there are willing buyers, 4k or 5k or even 20k GC pricing will soon become norm. Time to switch to console gaming! Personally, I don't have a game I want to play now that can overwhelm my current GC, yet. Worse case scenario, start playing at lower resolution and fidelity

Hm... i know what you guys are saying is true. But it's not just GC that is expensive here.
Part of the problem is actually the import tax system we have.
Look at the price of our imported cars.
When i was studying in Melbourne, you could buy a car on a part time job salary.
Here.... walaueh.. can die..

Also, mining is a big problem now. Because graphics cards are flying off the shelf regardless of value for money.
TBH, most of our distributors and major retailers have already tried their best to keep the prices stable la.. but sure got some black sheep doing nonsense one.
